Cleanest place we've ever stayed, the rooms really were spotless. Victor and his staff/family are wonderful and very accommodating. The breakfast is good with fresh scrambled eggs made there and then, and for any trips that depart before breakfast a goodie bag is provided. Showers were always hot.

Really cute place! Very cosy and homely feel.. the man who runs the hostel, Victor, is absolutely lovely. Always making sure that you are okay and comfortable and checking in. He asked us what tours we are doing so he can provide snacks - very kind! The breakfast was great too!

“Simple and cozy place”

We spent three nights at Illari Hostal in San Pedro de Atacama and had a really great experience. The host was extremely kind, helpful, and spoke good English. The room was small and simple but very clean (it was cleaned daily) and had everything we needed, with an exceptionally comfortable bed. Despite the cold nights, the heater kept the room pleasantly warm. The shower required a short wait, but then there was plenty of hot water, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The hostal is about a 10-minute walk from the center, in a quiet and safe neighborhood, right next to an authentic local restaurant where we had delicious dinners at half the price of the touristy places. We didn’t try the breakfast since we left early every morning, but the host thoughtfully prepared some snacks for us. Overall, it’s a simple but excellent accommodation, highly recommended.

Very comfortable room, good breakfast and decent location. The owner, Victor, is incredibly friendly and helpful! He speaks English too, which was helpful for us. We were given a breakfast to go for our trip to Bolivia. He also offered us a heater for the cold nights, but we were okay without one. The WiFi was good too. Overall great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again!

Exceptional stay! I spent my vacation with Victor, the host. We felt welcomed and at home. I confirm the reviews here on Booking.com; they're all true, and that's what made the difference in our choice. We're independent travelers and were fortunate to spend our days here. Victor also organized our four days in Bolivia, keeping our car in private parking. The area is very quiet and safe, a 10-minute walk from the center and close to supermarkets. San Pedro is a tourist-friendly town; I loved it. We didn't have any problems with the cold, as we had both a radiator and an electric heater. The room was always cleaned every day. The breakfast was good and if you go away early, Victor prepared a food bag for you. If you need, he offers laundry service. Excellent rate quality-price, especially if you have to stay for many days. Victor always offers excellent advice. Thank you for welcoming us and making us feel comfortable! We love you! :-)
