“Fantastic”

This hotel is a perfect spot for a relaxing vacation and some amazing scuba diving. My husband and I spent six wonderful days here to complete our scuba diving test, and it truly was one of the best hotels we've stayed at in a while. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A particular highlight for us was the two restaurants, which were well-organized and provided excellent service, making our stay even more enjoyable. Every day, someone would come to refresh our room, make sure our bed was neatly made, and leave us a lovely treat each evening. The food was absolutely delicious, and we're already looking forward to returning! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a peaceful, friendly, and memorable getaway.

“Great hotel and beautiful surroundings”

Beautiful location, excellent pool and the hotel grounds were well kept. The room was clean and well splinted, except no TV in the room.

“10/10 stay in Belize”

Everything was 10/10 From the pick up on the speed boat ordering our welcome cocktail to the checkout, the whole experience was a dream. We stayed at one of the beach casitas, the room was amazing, they bring coffees in the morning to the casita, home made biscuits delivered every day. The bed was the comfiest and they have all the details nailed down, from bath robes to mosquito nets and repelente. The AC in the room worked great as well. The breakfast included in the room rate was brilliant, fresh bakery, fruit, coffee and an amazing service. For lunch and dinner we mostly stayed at Matachica as the offer was great and so was the quality. We are very grateful to Edith and the team for all their help in organising activities outside the hotel such as diving and snorkeling trips, but also within the hotel. Taco Tuesdays with live music was amazing, di was the rum tasting evening. For a treat I really recommend the spa, the massage was a dream.

“Peaceful stay”

We absolutely loved everything about our stay. The pick-up by boat from the ferry, the warm welcome and welcome drinks, the beauty of the resort, and the lovely cabin. The beds were so comfortable! The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the food at the restaurant was just amazing. We also liked the fact that they offer free transfers to Caye Caulker and Secret Beach a few times a week. But the best thing was probably the staff. The whole team was incredibly friendly and warm, and they did everything they could to make our stay even more comfortable. We loved the small little details like the cookies we'd find in our room at bedtime. Definitely recommend this place!

“Glamorous, peaceful and chilled out resort with amazing food”

Absolutely loved our cosy cabin at Matachica. Fairy tale arrival by speed boat with drinks awaiting us was an amazing start to the holiday. The resort is quiet, stylish and very tastefully decorated. It never felt busy even though i think it was over half full. The food was amazing! The chef knows what they're doing - fantastic bread and breakfast pastries but every meal was delicious. However, what made our trip were the staff - everyone was so kind and willing to help in any possible way. We had problems with our air conditioning unit and after an initial fix failed they replaced the whole unit whilst giving we the option to change rooms if we wanted (we didn't - we were too settled) Lovely people but i also found that generally true of Belize. Thank you so much. Do try the trips - we borrowed a kayak to go to the reef across from the hotel and snorkel with sting rays but also did organised Hol Chan trip including swimming with nurse sharks which was fabulous.

“Nice place but over priced by European standards”

The location was scenic and the gardens were well Maintained. The rooms were pleasant.

“A nice stay - and a beautiful resort. Some small downsides but nothing major”

The resort is beautifully maintained - a lot of love and care is put into making the beach, the pool area, the lawns etc look as good as possible. The rooms are also beautiful and were cleaned to a high standard everyday. On our final night, the hotel did a ‘movie night’ under the stars - we thought this was a nice touch! The reception would also ensure that things were fixed for us very quickly (for example, there was a storm on our first night, meaning the wifi in our room shut down - however this was fixed immediately by the resort team). The food was also really great and varied - for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The hotel is beautiful... understated cool with nice furniture, relaxed ambiance and fantastic service. the food was exceptional, and the concierge did everything to make our diving trips perfect! It was a treat to come back to the beautiful resort and have a nice drink and meal after a full day of diving! Definitely want to come back!

Everything was great: the cabanas (rooms) and restaurants are beautiful, the staff is adorable and always helpful and caring, the food at the restaurant is delicious and made with fresh products, the views from the room on the numerous birds and squirrels are unbelievable, the sunset on the sea from the deck is beautiful...

“Paradise”

It's paradise. Super romantic, relaxing, fun with the activities, the workers there are super nice and the food at the restaurant... just delicious. They even had a vegetarian option, which was amazing! The cocktails at the bar soo good! We only regret not staying longer. Looking forward to go back! So yes, paradise :)

The hotel is fabulous, they really take the time to think of every small detail that make a big difference. Welcome drink on arrival when you hop off the boat, the unlimited refills of cold water in your YETI bottle, and the food is delicious!
