“Being Frida Kahlo”

Stepping into our appartment was like entering a house that was designed by Frida Kahlo. We loved it! Early check-in was possible. Not central, but good location. The entire property is wonderfully maintained and we were able to enjoy the breakfast in this nice surroundings. Would have loved to stay there longer, but we were on a tight schedule.

It's about a 1km walk mostly flat into the historic area. A pleasant walk. Our accommodation in the Garden Suite was spacious. Lots of sleeping space but we were only two people so that wasn't very important to us. King bed was comfortable. The common patio area is very nice.

Nicely furnished and well equipped Casita looking into a peaceful garden. Good kitchen facilities to permit longer stays, and a nice sitting area away from the sleeping area.

The staff at Casa Carly is remarkably attentive, and the breakfast they serve is absolutely delicious. My room was quite spacious, and the mattress comfort. However, what truly stands out is the outstanding courtyard. It offers a delightful and serene ambiance, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a good book.

The location was perfect- an easy walk to the center and also quiet. The staff, Lydia, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.

Close enough to the centre of the old town. Basic necessities were close by. Well managed. The mature trees would be very useful during the hotter weather. Accomodation was simple studio apatment

The place is very cozy and cute. Nice Mexican flair. The courtyard and grounds are beautiful. Lydia is a lovely and an attentive host.

“An Artful and Relaxing Stay in a Lovely Garden”

We loved our stay at Casa Carly for 6 nights during the fascinating Dias de los Muertos festivities. We are artists and particularly liked all of the design touches from color, style of furnishings and decorations. Our quadruple room was on a second floor with two loft beds and one very comfortable king size bed. You enter past a small balcony terrace covered with plants and a lovely view of trees and greenery, into a small living room area with a couch, two chairs and a small desk area by the window and good WIFI. The well-stocked kitchenette has a very cold refrigerator, microwave and gas stove with two burners. The blue tiled bathroom is off the kitchen lit by a skylight. The large bedroom has ample closet space, hangers, good lighting, and a gas heater for the cool nights. The kitchen window covers the exterior wall and is frosted glass, the bedroom has floor to ceiling windows and block out curtains. The room was quiet and we felt very private. We ate breakfast several times with Mauricio working as cook and his wife Lydia, who manages the hotel complex and their beautiful baby Carlos I especially liked the fresh asparagus and guacamole with breakfast choices. Both hosts were especially gracious and helpful. On our first night Lydia gave us some milk for our coffee and the way to our room was lit with romantic candles.. Outside the office, café area is a lovely garden area with multiple areas, some shaded, to sit, eat and enjoy the butterflies and flowers. Very close to Casa Carly is the Aurora Fabrica complex with artist studios, fashionable galleries and several restaurants (Geek & Coffee has an ourdoor play area) similar the art scenes In Santa Fe and Taos. Also around the corner from Casa Carly ( to the left) is a pedestrian way which dead ends into a relatively new café/restaurant HIerba Santa with excellent, inexpensive gourmet pancakes and French toast (complete with edible flowers).
