Everything. It's a private residence and the owners, Mary Cris and Mechelle are amazing. Really nice people, considerate and very helpful. If you're looking for peace, quiet and privacy, this is the place to go. Huge garden, beautiful view of the sunset, lots of bunnies hopping around, some cats and at night you can watch a bunch of toads hanging around the Koi pond.

Everything was perfect. This place brings you so much peace. You truly connect with nature, surrounded by cows, rabbits, cats, and dogs. The bungalow is perfect — modern, cute, and secluded, ideal for staying in peace. It’s the best accommodation I’ve had in the Philippines so far. You can enjoy sunsets by the beach, where there are so many turtles. The hosts are really kind and help you organize your arrival and departure. I was working a lot since I work remotely, and the WiFi was very reliable.

“A hidden oasis with exceptional hosts”

Because I wanted to stay on Siquijor for nine nights, I was looking for an accommodation away from the crowds, right by the sea. Based on the positive reviews, I chose this place — and my stay exceeded all expectations. This is a truly special place. It is located at the end of a narrow path just off the main road. Although it is not far from the main road, it feels like a completely different world once you enter the property — a peaceful oasis of calm. There is a large garden where rabbits, a dog, and cats roam freely, creating a very relaxed atmosphere. The swimming pool is wonderful and perfect for cooling off and unwinding. The cottage itself is very spacious and well designed, with a large bed, a roomy bathroom, a quiet and efficient air conditioner, a small refrigerator, and a huge private rooftop terrace. From there, you can enjoy beautiful sea views and stunning sunsets. The hosts, Mechelle and Marie-Chris, truly make this place exceptional. They arrange everything for you and create a very warm, personal atmosphere. I even had the pleasure of being invited to a karaoke evening — a great example of their hospitality. Tips: – Ask Mechelle to arrange transport from the ferry to the accommodation, so you don’t have to search for the location yourself. – Within walking distance, there is a small resort with an excellent restaurant serving generous breakfasts. It is also very convenient for dinner, so you don’t need to ride your scooter back along the narrow path at night. If you plan to stay longer on Siquijor and truly want to relax, this accommodation is an excellent choice.

Mechelle and her family are super nice and friendly, they helped us with transportation to Siquijor port and to rent a motorbike (that is a must given the remote location). In front of the property there is a beach full of marine life perfect for a private snorkeling session at sunset (amazing experience), but bring proper shoes as there are plenty of urchins. The pets are very cute and special: the cats, the rabbits and the lovely new entry dog (04/2025) The facilities are also very good: The swimming pool is perfect to relax, the balcony has a great view on the sunset and the detached room with bathroom (perfect for privacy) was spacious and clean. Airco and WiFi worked very well, and there was a water dispenser with filtered water and a fridge.

Michelle and her sister were awesome hosts. They really cared about me and were helpful in any way. The room is very spacious and has a roof top terrace with a splendid view on the ocean. The place uses solar energy for everything so there was no risk if the electricity brakes down what happens on Siquor Island quite often. So I always had internet :-) The place is very quite. Perfect to relax and chill. They only rent out this one bungalow so you are there on your own with Michelle's family.

I’m not sure I have enough words to describe how much we loved this place and this family ❤️ This place is a little slice of heaven outside the busyness of San Juan, filled with a beautiful garden, views, animals, private villa style room, and most importantly, a beautiful family. I second everything that all of the glowing reviews previous to this one have said. I cannot recommend this place enough, we would have stayed so much longer if we could, and would return in a heartbeat. This place and spending time with this family has been the highlight of our 5 month trip around south east Asia. Thank you Mechelle, Paul, Mary Cris, Aunty Edna, Molly and Leonard for the most magical, warm and beautiful experience staying with you. We will truly miss you all ❤️

“A magical stay at Rock House—warm hosts, starry nights, colorful sunsets, sea access, and a surprise birthday celebratio”

Those were magical days! You really feel like you’re part of Paul and Mechelle’s family. We had a lot of privacy because you stay in a little house (Rock House!) that has a little fish lake and a big terrace on top to watch the stars at night. 🌌 At the same time, if you want you can spend time with the family playing with the kids!! It was my birthday and the family improvised a pizza-karaoke party with cake and everything, can you believe it? 🍕🎤 They are always available to help out, when my boyfriend got sick, Mechelle and the family took care of us as their own. He was back on his feet in no time. On the property you can see the bunnies jumping around 🐇 and the house cats are cute and cuddly. Oh! The pool is perfect! 🏊‍♀️There’s also a direct access to the sea and we were able to snorkel at sunset 🌅 They also arranged our tricycle from and to the port and the motorbike rental for the days we were at the island. 🏍️ We connected so much that I cried when I left, missing them so much. 🫂

Secluded location, a little difficult to find at first but well worth the find. Set back from the main road, you get your own private little villa-type room, with sun terrace and access to the shared pool. I can’t speak highly enough of the family that run it, they are simply lovely and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Outstanding stay - would highly recommend

“Hugely recommended island oasis”

This place is an absolute gem on the island of Siquijor. The detached room is spacious and private and just steps away from a little rocky beach. Totally solar-powered, which we loved, and truly idyllic. You can sit on the roof and watch the sunset in the evenings. Most importantly, Mechelle is an incredible host. She is gracious and kind, and went out of her way to help us on several occasions when we had unexpected things come up. Anyone would be honored to be her guest. So happy we booked!

“Rare Treat.”

I love this place. The family were super lovely and welcoming. You have your own private bungalow with a huge rooftop with an amazing view of the sea. It's very quiet so I could work. The garden is beautiful and there's about 6 or 7 fluffy rabbits - I kid you not - some hens (not roosters, thank goodness) and cats. There's even a small pond with quite a few fish in it on your private porch and a clean swimming pool ten metres away. And the WiFi is good there in the outdoor lounge area, perfect for working. I highly recommend this place. Thank you!!

“Peaceful and relaxing place with amazing host”

I was very lucky to find this amazing and charming place. The house is peaceful and relaxing. The room is spacious and clean, set in a beautiful garden—and how amazing is it to have a private beach! Paul and Mechelle are incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with anything you might need. I am so grateful to them for making my stay so pleasant. I will definitely come back here!

The place is just as shown in the photos. It is really nice that you can go down to the beach (rocky) from the homestay. It is a really quiet place and the familiy is really welcoming. They even invited me to dinner and the party of one of the children's birthday. The room is nice, spacious and modern compared to other places in the Philippines. There were some reviews complaining about breakfast. You can have breakfast 5min away walking in a resort and they are building a kitchen to be able to serve meals too, so it would be a really nice improvement. They have a lot of rabbits in the garden. It is really funny see how they jump everywhere. If I comeback to Siquijor, I would love to come back here.

“Just perfect all around”

The hosts were so kind and helpful with everything, they had their two kids running around who wanted to play with us, same with their two cute 3 month old puppies! The accomodation has a direct access to the sea were you can swim with turtles during sunset relatively unbothered. We saw three on our one swim. We saw the prettiest night sky we’ve ever seen due to the missing light pollution, it was just so perfect We could have stayed a month!

The room is spacious, with many storages. The bed is huge and very comfortable, perfect for couples (also good for 2 people and a kid). The cleanliness is on the highest level in whole house particularly in the bathroom. The whole family is very kind and helpful. You can see many beautiful flowers (for example calachuci, if i am not mistaken) in the garden which makes you feel relaxed. The surrounding area is very quite and peaceful, perfect for resting. The ocean is very near, water is clear and you can snorkel around and admire sea turtles. The swimming pool is also available in the garden. I highly recommend to stay in this house.

“Best place ever!!”

This place is the perfect vacation get away! We stayed almost a full week and enjoyed every minute. You‘ll stay in a super spacious and nicely furnished private room with a new bathroom and an incredible view from the roof top. The owner and the family are just lovely and so helpful. Bunnies are hoping through the garden where you can enjoy the pool. On top of that there is a direct access over the cliffs to a snorkel spot where we swam with turtles.

“Best Homestay in the Philippines!”

Honestly, we loved absolutely everything about this place! We ended up extending for 2 more nights and would have done many more if we had the time! The room was amazing - super clean, bed was so comfy and the room was huuuuge. The shower pressure and temp was perfect - we loved that everything is run on solar power! WiFi was great:) The roof top view was AWESOME for sunsets! You can also go down onto a private lil beach and go snorkelling - we saw so many turtles! They also have snorkels in the room - free of charge, which was awesome! Also they have bunnies hopping around the place, along with cats and the cutest golden retriever. There was also a waterfall pond just outside the room with fish and toads, which we thought was such a cool addition! All of this for such a good price! Most of all though - the family were just the most lovely people ever!! Sooo hospitable, welcoming and friendly - we are missing them already!! Best place we've stayed throughout our whole travelling experience. Honestly couldn't speak highly enough about this place - you definitely wouldn't regret staying here!!!
