We had a really great stay. The host was incredibly kind, relaxed, and exceptionally helpful throughout our time there. He went out of his way to support us several times and even personally helped us solve a problem, which we really appreciated. ☺️ The courtyard is beautiful and relaxing. The host even prepared homemade breakfast for us. The place itself is cozy and has everything you need. The location is also great… only a short walk to the center. We would happily stay here again.

Very comfortable stay for a reasonable price. The free breakfast in the morning was a lovely touch, and the owner was very helpful with giving us recommendations of places to go in San Juan. The kitchen was well equipped. We chose to extend our stay and the owner was very accommodating.

Everything was very nice and clean. Leo was an excellent host, always ready to help with anything needed. The breakfast was great and there is also the possibility to organize tours directly at the reception, which was very convenient. I definitely recommend rostro maya!

The property is about a 10–15 minute walk from San Juan and the lagoon, but the walk is pleasant and completely manageable. The place was clean, welcoming, and I had a very comfortable stay. The staff was always available and helpful, they organized tours as well as my shuttle transportation, which made everything very easy. Overall, it offers good value for money.

“Wonderful stay”

Lovely peaceful space. There is a communal outdoor seating area, small garden and kitchen with plenty of utensils for cooking. The communal spaces are cleaned every day. Host Leon was just so lovely - so friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. He cooked us a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, yogurt and granola, fruit, toast and eggs every morning. There is one shared toilet and shower which is kept clean. Excellent value for money.

The location was great. Away from noisy tuk tuks, about 15 min walk from the port. Room was comfortable, with nice communal areas and well equipped kitchen. There is only one toilet, one sink and one shower for all guests staying in the property. Francesca was a lovely host.

The host Leo was lovely. Suggested coffee tours and did a great breakfast. Good value for money.

Was nothing less than perfect! Andrea was super helpful and welcoming, everything was clean, rooms were big, breakfast was exceptional. Highly recommend!!

Francisca, the person taking care of the property was very nice and friendly. We had interesting discussions about Guatemala and family in spanish. The location is not in the centerr of the village but a few min to walk which makes it somewhat more quiet.

Free drinking water is available at all times, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect for exploring the town. Our room had a private bathroom, was cozy and well equipped, and offered very good value for money. There was also hot water for showering, which was a big plus.

We stayed at this place for several nights and can 100% recommend it! The owner is extremely welcoming and friendly from the very beginning. We arranged a private transfer from Guatemala City Airport through her, and she picked us up herself — punctual and reliable. Later, we also booked a group shuttle to Antigua through her, which worked just as smoothly. Breakfast was delicious, including fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, toast with eggs prepared in different ways, and a large pancake with peanut butter, along with great coffee or tea. Free drinking water is available at all times, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect for exploring the town. We absolutely loved San Juan at Lake Atitlán — out of the three towns we visited around the lake, this one was our favorite. Our room had a private bathroom, was cozy and well equipped, and offered very good value for money. There was also hot water for showering, which was a big plus. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay and would definitely choose this accommodation again. Thanks for everything!

Our room felt very clean. The staff member that checked us in was very friendly. It was nice to have a smart TV and a bedside lamp too!

The location is good, very close to the centre (about 4 min walk). The building and room are nice and cozy. You can use the kitchen to cook your food.
