“A friendly, welcoming place to stay especially for the budget traveller with lovely staff and great value for money”

The family that runs the hotel live there and they are delightful. It’s slightly away from the hectic town centre but still only a five min walk. That means it’s quiet at night. My bed was comfortable, my bathroom quirky (slanted under-roof ceiling) but functional. The interior walls are painted with colourful murals that made me smile each time I passed. The roof top has a kitchen and places to sit. The manageress helped me with my Spanish. I really loved staying there.

It was really next to the port and they were really trying to help you in anything you needed. They even offered me to take me to the encuentro which was towards my next stop. Thank you!

Simple but clean and centrally located. The rooftop with the hammocks was amazing and the staff was helpful when it came to organizing tours etc.

Great place, great family running the place and helping with what we needed. Best area to go around the lake and still enjoy the silence.

I loved my stay at this place. The room was very clean, a good size. The patio outside the room was shared between the 3 rooms and there was another patio on the level above and another above which had an amazing view. Breakfast was a choice of pancakes and fruit and the tipico with scrambled eggs along with unlimited coffee which set you off for the day. The host Dalila was lovely. There is a shop on the premises for drinks, ice cream etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

Big clean room, nice staff

Great view and chill area on the terrasse. This is a nice plus. However, while you could think that it’s far from the main road, the road in front of the hotel is very noisy.. no noise cancellation anywhere so you can hear people discuss in the street..

The hotel was close the centre of town (10 mins walk) and the rooms were very comfortable and clean and they served a nice basic breakfast too which isn’t normal at this price point. The staff were very helpful and you could have your room cleaned daily if you wanted and there was a communal kitchen and free water and it was very good value. The owner was very helpful and gave good advice and well priced onward transportation ticket.

We enjoyed our stay in Casa Argentina. The Location is perfect, you don't need to go up the steep road to get to the hostel from the ferry . The view of the balcony is stunning

The room was big and spacious. The TV was a bonus. Also a fan provided. hand soap provided in the bathroom. The bathroom is a bit small but functional. I would have liked additional hooks in the bathroom. The room had a shelf which was convenient to store things and a table. The bed was comfortable. It was a bit cold at night so I used an extra blanket which was available. The terrace was nice and had a lake view. The breakfast was an option of typical Guatemalan breakfast or pancakes - I had tried both and it was sufficient. Also possible to add on or order ala carte. The property is located at the periphery of san juan so u walk about 5 mins to the main street. I liked it cos I was there on a Sunday which was a very busy time in the main areas of San juan so being a bit away was better. Anyway everything is an easy walking distance. Overall its good value for money esp for a private room including breakfast

The great location and friendly staff

Small family owned hotel in quiet place. Very helpfull staff. Organized sun rise hike to Indian nose. Good breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful host - helped us to buy a recharge package for our phone. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Views over the lake from the upper floors was beautiful, with a nice outside area to relax in. Plenty of filtered water provided.
