Breakfast choices were good and portions adequate. Shared kitchen though tiny was clean and well equipped. It is an old style, rambling property offering multiple seating areas including a pleasant patio area with a good view of sunsets. Location is excellent, just metres from a supermarket and the seafront.

“Good for backpackers”

Staff members were very helpful trying to do as much as possible to meet your expectations. They changed our room 3 times. It was not because we were picky. The rooms had issues ( wi fi didn't work on the third level, drainage at the shower had problem) The hotel needs updates. But you get what you pay for. They served typical Nicaraguan breakfast (rice and scrambled egg or pancakes) and coffee. The filtered water was available at the lobby.

“Quiet laidback hostel, highly recommend”

We had such a nice time here and SJDS in general, we continually extended our stay. This hostel was one of the most affordable options we found (although SJDS accommodation seems a lot pricier than the rest of Nicaragua), but we were very satisfied overall. The hostel was surprisingly spacious with lots of different areas and levels, tons of chill out space with chairs, hammocks, and even a subtle ocean view from the balconies. We liked that our room was tucked away at the back and top level of the property, quiet and private. The room was simple and rustic but no issues. Cold showers, good WiFi, two fans (we only needed/used one of them) and were perfectly comfortable. Perfect location one block from the ocean, there’s a good sized supermarket Ocean Market 1 min walk away, and only a few minutes walk to Casa Oro where the daily shuttles leave to surrounding beaches. The included breakfast was great, a tasty plate of gallo pinto. 8am-10am service time was perfect for us. We’ll miss their adorable puppy Sultan!

“Good location, but too many issues”

The location of the hostel was great, close to the beach, bars and restaurants. The staff was helpful. Typical (rice with beans and scrambled egg) breakfast was good. The bed was soft

“Terrible”

The location was the only good thing about this place. Although I would recommand everyone to stay outside of San Juan, much nicer!

It is very clean, the breakfast is delicious, and it is close to the beach and has a beautiful view.

SO SO LOVELY! Super clean, super quiet at night, Lovely free breakfast, they let us checkout 3 hours later for $10. Really nice sun trap terrace to chill on too! And moments from the beach/main area of town.

breakfast is good. room is very big even though there are 16 beds inside, you have a lot space to put bag. nice staff, they are friendly, helpful.

i ended up staying 1 month a this hostel and everything was perfect and clean. Maria and her family are really lovely people. if i come back i will return for sure.

Great location, breakfast & king size bed. It's quiet, but close to everything. I would stay here again.
