Very nice spot in a nice village near beautiful hikes. Place is clean, showers are the best, dorms are very peaceful, it’s so quiet up there! Views over Teide and valley are stunning. Breakfast rocks, all you need before a hiking day.

“Loved my stay there”

I fell in love with the hostel, the people there and the surroundings, so cannot recommend it enough. Great location for hikes in Northern Tenerife. The hosts are so kind and they take utmost care of the hostel, so everything was clean and cosy. The breakfast was nice as well. All in all, especially considering the low price, this is a fabulous place to stay at. And, well, this depends on luck, but in my 3 days there I met the most amazing travellers. Could be that this great place attracts the best people. 😉 ❤

“Would not stay again”

Clean, close to bus stop, beautiful forest nearby, cheap in comparison (I was there for Christmas), breakfast was simple but good, all utensils available.

“A sad truth”

The only difference to my entire stay is that I was significantly deceived by the hosts. Basically, I couldn't have cared less, but it wasn't, because they unilaterally terminated my stay in violation of the contract. But in the end I'm very happy about it because I found 3 other beautiful hostels here in the north of Tenerife. In particular, it was the Germans who tried to push me out of this hostel with constructed complaints about me. Thanks to the seriousness and professionalism of booking.com, especially when it comes to respecting the terms of the contract, I was able to look for another hostel with peace of mind. Despite these adverse and extremely unpleasant circumstances, I found 2 real friends in this hostel. Sincerely

As you can see from my last reviews, I only have good things to say. I feel very comfortable and accepted in the region of El Tanque. In addition to the main town of the same name, the municipality of El Tanque consists of the districts of San José de los Llanos, Ruigómez and Erjos. Likewise in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. The municipality of Icod de los Vinos consists of twelve districts: Buen Paso (with Hoya Ana Diaz) Cueva del Viento (with La Candelaria, La Patita, Lomo Las Lajas, Los Piquetes and Pedregal) El Amparo Fuente la Vega (with Cruz del Camino and Las Abiertas) La Florida LaMancha La Vega (with El Molledo and Mirabal Alto) Las Canas San Felipe San Marcos Santa Bárbara (with Llanito Perera and Penichet) In Icod de los Vinos is the Drago Milenario, the most famous dragon tree, at least in the Canary Islands. It was thought to be around 3,000 years old, but recent research puts it at around 400 years old. Nearby is the Butterfly House Mariposario del Drago. Above the park with the dragon tree is the Iglesia de San Marcos, which was built in the 16th century. The church, enlarged several times, has a remarkable Renaissance portal. The church ceiling made of tea, the heartwood of the Canary pine, was installed in the 16th century. The baroque altar is decorated with silver ornaments. The filigree silver cross comes from Cuba.

The fact that I have repeatedly extended my stay speaks for itself, because I feel very comfortable in this hostel, in the whole place, in this impressive natural environment and the entire region, welcome and accepted, just the way I am. - This is a beautiful experience for me, which I have not experienced and felt like this before. I am very happy here. Well, I also travel a lot by bus, I also hike longer distances and paths from time to time. What can I say more? The landscape and the small towns, which are like a gallery, line the mountains like a string of pearls, also apply here. You have to see it with your own eyes. Conclusion: I will continue to stay and feel good (...)

“Tenerife, the island of eternal spring”

Besides my stay in the hostel, which I have already written about, I really like the little town of San José de los Llanos. The nature in the entire area is impressive and spreads out as far as the eye can see. The view from the terrace of the Teide and the Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking and indescribable. The air and the climate are simply good for body and soul, as is the peace and tranquility of the entire region. The bus service is excellent and the bus runs several times a day. I will continue to stay here.

I loved sitting on the balcony and finally get to do some reading with a great view, didn't come to do trekking ;-) I also liked breakfast was included.

Close to hiking trail.

Basically this is a bare bones hostel for a very cheap price. Location is pretty good for hiking and nice view of Teide. Quick check-in (there is no check-in) as you just get your key from a lockbox with a code.

Cheap, really basic but okay
