This is a veautiful old apartment with lots of character with one tiny bedroom actually in a tower itself. The apartment is in a building very close to the Duomo, a great location in Gimignano. The apartment is very large, on two levels and is very spacious with many antique furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the owner was very nice.

The apartment a bit of a time-warp with the furniture and pictures, etc. but very comfortable and having a room overlooking the main square and actually in one of the towers was fabulous.

The location was stunning and the apartment was truly amazing - right in the centre of town overlooking the town square and church. The apartment had everything needed for a comfortable stay. This was one of those experiences in life which you can never forget - staying in a place which is 800 years old within a medieval town was breath-taking! Filippo is the owner and he took very good care of us, we met him at his shop near the San Matteo gate where he took us to his close-by private garage to park the car. He then gave us a quick tour of the town, taking care to help us to understand the many winding and narrow streets. The town is very interesting with many things to do and see and an enormous number of authentic Italian food suppliers as well as the most amazing Italian ceramic shop where we bought some lovely Sicilian lemon patterned bowls and plates. Don't forget the worlds best gelato shop (Dondoli's) is based here too, it's worth a trip or two to taste the huge range of gelato on offer! Filippo was a perfect host with a perfect accommodation - thank you Filippo!

We had a wonderful stay at La Torre Useppi in San Gimignano, and we truly appreciated the charm and character of this place. The room we stayed in, located in the medieval tower, was stunning, with breathtaking views of the cathedral, it felt like a little piece of history. The space itself is surprisingly large, offering plenty of room to relax, and despite being in the heart of the town, the apartment was extremely warm and cosy, which was especially appreciated during our winter visit. The heating was fantastic, and the entire place was impeccably clean and tidy. Filipo was exceptional!!! he went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, offering great local tips and providing a level of hospitality that made our stay even more enjoyable. His helpfulness truly stood out and made us feel very welcome. A few points to consider: The property is located in a medieval tower, so there are quite a few steps to get to the apartment (not loads, but worth mentioning as I saw some reviews complaining about this, but it should not be a stop over). This might be a challenge for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues, although it’s not a problem if you're in good shape (we travelled with young children and they found the steps amazing as there were flowers and it was a superb experience for them). Additionally, the parking is about a 7-minute walk away, which wasn’t a problem for us since we travel light, but anyone with larger suitcases might find the cobblestone streets a bit tricky. That said, this is all part of the charm of staying in a medieval town like San Gimignano, so if you’re aware of that before booking, it shouldn’t be an issue. Overall, La Torre Useppi is a fantastic place to stay with its spacious, beautiful rooms and fantastic location. We definitely recommend it, and we’ll be back the next time we're in San Gimignano!
