Located 3 km outside the medieval hill town of San Gimignano, the family-run bed and breakfast La Fornace Di Racciano is an ancient rural property with terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings. “Tuscan countryside living at its best!”
We had a beautiful 3 night stay here and loved every minute. The house is located 5 minutes by car from the town of san gimignano, with plenty of parking available and a very homey feel. I felt like I was staying with my Italian grandparents! All the staff are very warm and welcoming and can we take a minute to mention the beautiful golden retriever waiting at the front door to greet you. Feeling a bit homesick and missing our own golden retriever after a few weeks of travelling, the beautiful dog waiting for a cuddle was exactly what we needed! The rooms are spacious and well equipped with everything you need and there are lots of tables around the grounds to sit and enjoy some wine and the stunning view of the town. We didn’t use the pool but it looked great. You definitely need a car when staying here as you can’t really walk anywhere but we knew that so it wasn’t a problem. Ask my husband, I’ve been missing the doggy cuddles since we left!

The room was big, clean and cosy. Comfortable bed. The breakfast was very good with freshly baked cake and pastries. There was also yoghurt, fruits and nuts. The cheese on the toast was also delicious. The room where the breakfast is served is also very nice with a high ceiling, nice decoration and a beautiful view on San Gimignano. Very kind and helpful hosts!

La Fornace Di Racciano is one of the nicest places we have stayed in Tuscany! Comfortable room size for a family of 3. Clean and traditionally decorated. Amazing breakfast! Very close to San Gimignano by car only a few minutes. Hostesses very friendly - welcoming and helpful with directions and suggestions for our visit to San Gimignano and the close by Wine Tasting Experiences. We would definitely come back.

WOW. What a beautiful place with a stunning backdrop of San Gimignano. Family run place who will tell you of all the best restaurants. The restaurant just up the track is fine. We didn't walk into San Gimignano as it looked like the only route was via the road. I maybe wrong? Nice to dip our legs in the pool in the evening after exploring San Gimignano in 35 degrees heat. Breakfast was best we've ever had. Never had so much choice
