Overview
Set in the Tuscan countryside, Il Coltro is a historic farmhouse 10 minutes' drive from San Gimignano. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and apartments with wood-beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. Each apartment has its own BBQ and a rustic interior design with antique furniture. You will have a kitchen or kitchenette with microwave, oven and fridge. Apartments overlook the garden, pool or countryside. Il Coltro has a long history but was renovated in the late 90s, preserving the farmhouse's Tuscan country style. Free Wi-Fi and free parking are provided. Bike rental is also free of charge. The nearest train station is Barberino V.E, which is 4 km away and his links to Siena and Empoli.

“Very relaxing.”
Views were amazing. The pool is big enough. The owners were very sweet and helpful. The dog Nina and the cat Duki were the highlight for our 4 year old.

We loved the farm environment and surrounding scenery. There was a lovely pool, which was welcome on hot days. Everything worked for us, and we enjoyed a relaxing time.

“Perfect little Tuscan oasis!”
Il Coltro was a beautiful villa with the most picturesque views. The owners were so incredibly helpful, particularly when we had car trouble. The family dog Nina, just made the stay even more homely! Such a relaxing and wonderful stay!

“Absolutely amazing”
Everything! The property is beautiful, the gardens and pool are immaculate. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment with terrace to the front and side, the views were spectacular. The apartment has everything you need to enjoy staying at home for lunches or dinners, which we did a few times as we were traveling with our 4 months old baby. Mauro and Donatella were lovely and very helpful. Great restaurant recommendations and they were kind enough to make reservations for us when we asked. If you want to explore you need a car, but I'd happily have stayed and enjoyed the peacefulness that Il Coltro offers.

Beautiful quiet location in the Tuscany countryside. Fabulous view across to San Gimigano. You very much feel like you are staying in somebody’s home. The apartment was comfortable and clean with everything we needed. The pool was lovely. We fell in love with Nina and Pongo! Mauro and Donnatella were fabulous hosts! So welcoming and helpful!

“A great place to relax and enjoy”
What a delight was to stay at this gorgeous place! Our studio apartment was so spacious, clean and comfortable. The surrounding is just breathtaking and quiet, and swimming pool was spotlessly clean! Mauro and Donatella are wonderful hosts, very kind and warm people. We enjoyed the presence of their dogs, Pongo and Nina, so much. Also, the location of the property is perfect for exploring Tuscany without long drives. We will be definitely coming back many times! :)

“Stunning sunsets over a true Tuscan villa”
excellent self contained traditional Tuscan villa accommodation. Good central base for daily excursions. Had the extra little things like olive oil, spices, washing up items that you didn’t have to go and buy. It’s about 15mins drive from San Gimiagano. The owners are really lovely and Nina there dog is super friendly and greets you at the gate. Hot water was good, ceiling fan. Has air con but didn’t use it. Washing machine with detergent was handy. Super quiet location.

“Beautiful views, wonderful atmosphere”
We spent 6 nights in the GLI ARCHI apartment, a family of 5. The apartment is very spacious, the rooms are very large and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The view of San Gimignano towers from the apartment is amazing. The area is surrounded by vineyards and is very quiet and peaceful. The place is close to the siena-firenze freeway and there are stores and supermarkets near by
