Overview
Originally a Franciscan convent built in 1587, Hotel La Collegiata is located in the Colli Seneri area, within east reach of mediaeval towns such as San Gimignano and Volterra. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi. The rooms, which are furnished in a style that reflects the Sienese Renaissance palaces, are located in the former cloister. The top-floor rooms overlook the 13 towers of San Gimignano. Spend long afternoons swimming in the hotel’s ample pool, having a Jacuzzi, request a massage for an extra charge or strolling in the beautiful, Italian-style garden opposite the ancient building, whose warm, sober tones of pietra serena blend perfectly with the shapes and proportions of Tuscan Renaissance architecture. The buffet breakfast, served in the garden in fine weather, includes pastries and local products, you can also ask for a light lunch or a snack for dinner. You can enjoy the Roman vaulting of the ancient chapel, which is richly decorated in sumptuous red and gold.

“Perfect introduction to Italy”

“Poor”
It’s a great building just badly run. Clearly needs a proper manager who can get things into order. Need the place tidied up, get the staff better trained. Basically it comes across as a hotel that can’t be bothered and just wants to skim the tourist over peak summer months.

“An historic stay at Hotel La Collegiata”
If you're looking for an experience of a different kind, I can recommend Hotel La Collegiate. 15th century old building steep in history. Grounds are immaculate. We stayed in the Master suite - Tower which provides you with a truly unique experience. Walking distance to San Gimignano and a great location to base yourself out of for a couple of days in Tuscany. Staff very friendly and helpful.

“Very enjoyable!”
A beautiful building just outside San Gimignano city. Lovely pool area and fabulous breakfasts but the highlight of this hotel is their staff. Thanks to Christina, Erika, Anna and Marie Rosa for looking after us so well. But the absolute star of this hotel is Stefano. He is amazing, there to attend to your every need with efficiency and with such a friendly manner, he had a great sense of humour and made us laugh during our entire stay! A great credit to this hotel.

Only small suggestion- pool could open at 8 am not 9. Like a swim before breakfast! Otherwise everything was glorious!
