The location was perfect to feel you were in the Tuscan hills surrounded by Vinyards. It was picture postcard perfect with a wholesome family atmosphere. I wish I stayed longer and will be back!

The spot. A quiet place, great restaurant and breakfast. Amazing view. Event though there was a problem with the central heating, the staff successfully fixed the problem in a few minutes.

The staff was amazing and very kind, ready to help you with everything! Their dogs were memorable as well and we loved everything about the people that owns the property! The location was fantastic for anyone who wants to wander around Tuscany and chill, away from city lights ❤️ The room was truly spacious and appropriate for longer stays. Great to have a window over the vineyard and enjoy a great view!

“Perfect for a Tuscan break”

Everything. The hosts, Federica and Umberto, the staff, especially Riccardo, and the all-round experience. The property is located in a very tranquil setting and was a very unique experience for us. The additional services such as the wine tasting or breakfast were excellent. Merlot, the family dog, stole our hearts and we would return just to meet him, when we can. We had an electric rental, so there is a charger, albeit slow, with reasonable prices on the property. Additionally, there is an excellent restaurant next door with a limited but outstanding menu. Must try that too

An absolutely amazing place! The property includes cozy guest rooms, a family-owned winery, a restaurant, and a lovely spot for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay the hosts were kind and welcoming. The place also offers great activities like a guided tour of the winery, truffle hunting, and more. We loved the winery tour and the dinner at the family restaurant. The room was clean and well-organized, and the breakfast was delicious and varied. We truly enjoyed our stay.

“Fattoria San Donato has a lovely setting and good food experiences, but the accommodation felt outdated, uncomfortable,”

I was really looking forward to staying at Fattoria San Donato, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The room itself wasn’t very comfortable and felt somewhat unclean, with a noticeable sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The overall space felt quite outdated and in need of some maintenance. On a positive note, the food experiences such as the tastings and lunch were delicious and enjoyable, but I didn’t feel they were worth the high price charged. Similarly, the breakfast was underwhelming and overpriced for what was offered.

We had an excellent stay in the newly renovated self-catering apartment. The property has been beautifully restored, preserving its historic charm while offering every modern comfort including a steam shower, an enormous bathtub, and even a cosmetic fridge. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The staff were amazing, warm, welcoming, and always helpful. The location is fantastic, and watching the sunrise over the Tuscan hills was absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend!

Excellent value for money with a comfortable, private and clean apartment. The location is absolutely stunning and great base from which to explore local Tuscan towns. We appreciated the friendly, professional staff who went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing stay. This family-run establishment is well-managed with nice amenities (pool, gardens) and offers amazing food. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the florentine steak dinner was wonderful and deservedly a point of pride (book ahead for this one). We enjoyed the pool, the wine and learning about the wine production on-site with a great cellar tour. Special shout out to Riccardo for excellent hospitality. We look forward to coming back as repeat customers, this place is such a peaceful reprieve from busy city sightseeing. Next time we will be checking a bag so we can bring home more San Donato wine and olive oil. Grazie mile!

“Typically Tuscan experience; Great hospitality.”

The Fattoria met all our expectations. We had a large 2 room apartment which was very comfortable with outside area/balcony. We had the Tuscan dinner/wine tasting one night which was a wonderful evening where we sat with other guests from Germany,Belgium,US,France, Italy, Netherlands to socialise. Nice pool area. The staff were always accomodating and friendly: Our fridge wasn't working and we had trouble with our plug converters being the wrong size when we arrived, and they went out of their way to sort this out for us. The beautiful dog, Merlot! The location / views and ambience of the little hamlet were superb. We were a short drive to San Gimignano. We enjoyed the walking through the vineyards (4.4km to San Gimignano or just an out and back for a shorter walk) with wonderful views (se the photos). There was a hotel a few minutes walk and another 'Locanda' in the hamlet for dinner options on nights where the Fattoria did not offer dinner.
