“Disappointed at the offhanded treatment we received from a Booking.Com listed Hotel.”
On 24th February 2026 we booked and confirmed for the night of 21st May 2026 at 'A La Casa Dei Potenti' in the centre of San Giimignano On 17th May 99 Euros were taken from our account for the booking On the 21st May we arrived at the hotel, there was no one there, just a telephone number on the door After various difficult conversations we gathered that our room had been given to someone else A lady from a nearby shop tried to help us, a lady from the local bar tried to help us After standing around for 45 minutes we were offered a room outside the walls of the town, which as we are O.A.P.s and had already hiked from Certaldo, we took. We are very annoyed for the following reasons . We booked though Booking.com in good faith and our money has been taked for a city centre room . The total lack of courtesy, - we were not informed before hand, no one was at the hotel to explain . We were attracted by the advert for a city centre ancient building and then lodged in a modern building elsewhere.

Fabulous location, on a lovely square with cafe outside. Clean rooms lovely smelling air fresheners. Comfortable beds, hot powerful shower and stunning view from the window. Prompt and efficient staff.

Great location in the centre of the historic district. Spotless. Rustic historical building. Good heating. Excellent cafe on the piazza downstairs with outside seating to watch the world go by.

Perfect location in the heart of San Gimignano, nice view from the room to the church, good communication, the bathroom was beautiful and clean, the bed was comfortable. Really nice accomodation.

“Great stopover along the Via Francingena trail, in a unique medieval town.”
A terrific location, right in the heart of the walled town. We had a view of one of the famous towers from our window and it was a short walk to get anywhere you wished. Good eateries were nearby and a supermarket was at the other end of town. We walked to and from San Gimignano, and can recommend the hotel as a good stop for those travelling by foot along the Via Francingena or staying longer.

Beautiful place. Really takes you to another era. The stuff is friendly and helpful with everything. Especially the cleaning lady was lovely. The room clean, big and beautiful. The location is amazing, in the heart of the town. There is also a cafe just outside. Highly recommend!! Hope we can come back for a longer time.

“Convenient and comfortable accommodation in perfect location”
Excellent location very close to the cathedral, easy check in - rang the no located on the front door and the owner came a few minutes later, spotless room and very comfortable bed - perfect for our 1 night stay.
