“Peaceful nature-filled escape”

The view to the forest and river out front was stunning and the sound of the river was so nice to hear throughout our stay.

Loved staying here. Food amazing .Breakfast was very good 🥰 Lovely cosy beds with lots of blankets & Duvet . Nice shower with shower gel , shamp & con was really nice ..Great birdwatching trips organised by Hotel. The drive to hotel is alot better as they have tarmac the road a few months ago . Still twisty ,turning & narrow. But well worth it. Its beautiful area . Very friendly people everywhere. Plus great birds 🥰 Worth the cold nights .

Huge room. Loved the extra living space. Great breakfast. Quick check in and out. Loved the area. Very clean and well cared for. Lots of birds nearby. Got to see the resplendent quetzel nearby.

“Fantastic stay!”

Gorgeous setting in the valley, with individual cabins beautifully furnished. Staff are fantastic and always helpful, informative and thoughtful. Food in their restaurant was delicious, really well-presented and timely. The grounds are lovely, full of hummingbirds, and their tropical garden is a hidden gem for birds and chilling.

Lovely spacious room in a beautiful location. Food in the restaurant was great - particularly the grilled trout with very well prepared vegetables. Nice to wake up to the sound of the river just yards away.

Such a peaceful location. Lovely modern accommodation. Very good restaurant. And we also enjoyed the quetzal watching tour we booked through them. (I contacted them after the room booked, in advance of our stay to book the activity.) Ps. The room is cold at night but they provided more duvets and blankets than we needed. In fact it was great to sleep in a cold room after all the tropical locations we visited prior. And it was great to fall asleep to the sound of the little river that runs nearby.

Fantastic location and facilities including incredible botanical gardens completely free. The cabins were super cosy, stylish and spotless , fitting perfectly into the surrounding landscape. Very authentic mountain feel was special

Gorgeous lodges with fabulous picture window views to the Savegre River and the cloud forests. We enjoyed the Quetzal spotting trip despite it being very early. Breakfasts were wonderful and we also enjoyed the dinner menu. Beautiful presentation for all the meals and drinks.

We had a wonderful stay at Lauraceas Lodge! The food was absolutely delicious, and we felt so comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. The rooms were always warm and cozy, with a touch of luxury that made our stay extra special. It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica.

Best beds in Costa Rica! Very friendly staff in the restaurant. Helped us to get a quetzal guide where we did see them! Restaurant food is good for a good price. The room was beautiful and more then worth of the money.

“Cosy, family-run boutique hotel, worth a longer stay”

We arrived late at night in a taxi after our car had broken down. The taxi crept down the steep hill in the dark and fog at 10-15kph. It all felt very ominous, but we were very warmly welcomed at the hotel and we arrived just in time for dinner before the kitchen closed. Food was fantastic, sevice, impeccable and the rooms were spacious with certainly the most comfortable bed I had slept in, during our vacation in CR, possibly more comfortable than our bed at home. Seeing the valley in sunlight the next morning was fantastic and we were only sad that we had not decided to stay for another night...!

The bungalows are built in a traditional way and surprise at the same time with a modern and very comfortable interior. The Lodge comes with its own huge garden (like a park) full of wonderful flowers and birds and offers a path for the visitor to enjoy the beauty. Lauraceas Lodge offers birdwatching tours and especially one to see the Quetzal with an experienced guide, who is the owner of the lodge. Breakfast and dinner were really tasty and the staff (partly members of the family) is really friendly.

“A wonderful place to stay in the mountains.”

We loved staying at the lodge. Our room/cabin was spacious and comfortable and a great location for walking around and bird watching. Everything was spotless and a it was clear that a lot of attention was paid to small details and the needs of clients. We hired their guide, who was great and very helpful. The restaurant was probably the best in all of our trip and very reasonable. We were sorry not to have spent more time here. Its a lovely area.

Beautiful lodges situated right in the valley with a nice restaurant and a garden with a bird viewing platform. All the staff were very friendly and arranged the Quetzal tour for us when we arrived.

“Beautiful hotel and a beautiful area”

The rooms are really very nice and look much better than in the photographs. Yes it gets a little bit cool at night but the bidding is more than adequate and we didn't have any problems. There are lots of beautiful hummingbirds in the garden and The meals and cocktails are very good and reasonably priced. We did the quetzel tour with Marco and he is a very accomplished guide and we managed to see a number of quetzals of both sexes. All in all I can't rate this hotel highly enough.

This was a perfect stay in this remote valley. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. In addition the restaurant was excellent and not expected in such a remote location. Short distance to hiking trails and the lodge private garden were nice additions.
