Great Location for Union Square area. Lovely rooms that had everything we needed slightly small but we expected this. was cosy in a way. Great friendly staff and clean facilities. Decently equipped Gym also.

A fantastic hotel — perfectly located right next to the BART station, making it incredibly easy to get around the city. The bed is very comfortable and the room is well-sized, ideal for solo travelers or couples. The real highlight, though, is the staff. Everyone was wonderfully attentive and genuinely happy to help at any moment. A special thank you to the manager María and to Kitty — they made me feel completely at home. Truly exceptional people! The breakfast is a proper meal, and the communal space for working or unwinding during happy hour is excellent. Highly recommend!

Location was perfect for us - right by a BART stop so great connection from the airport. Just around the corner was the tram turntable, perfect for jumping on the tram. Bus and streetcar stops really close by too. The staff were friendly and helpful, lots of tips on restaurants. The hotel had a relaxed vibe, funky decor and our room was great fun with a tablet to control the lights, the blinds and colour mood of the room. We hadn’t intended to eat breakfast in the hotel but the fact that items were individually priced meant we could eat a light breakfast without having to pay for a larger meal. Big, comfy bed - big hot shower - perfect.

Location has to come first - it would be hard to beat for convenience, just metres from the station for the BART train from/to SFO and points all around the Bay Area. The room was a clearly-advertised trade-off between scale of room (tiny) and location (pretty much unbeatable). For its tiny size, room was perfectly comfortable and surprisingly peaceful. Nice vibe in café / coworking / bar area.

“Super hotel in the heart of San Fran”

Excellent property located in the heart of San Francisco, if you haven’t been to a citizen M then you’ll be surprised by the room sizes, they’re fairly petite! But have a massive king bed as always, and for the price they’re great value, you’re not in San Fran to sit in your room all day anyway! Allowed an early check in which was super helpful.

Location is very ideal, close to Union Square. I've stayed with Citizen M in Geneva and the room has this same familiar layout. I requested for an early check-in and was given as several rooms were available. Rooms always tidy, clean and functional. Bfast has a good selection of hot food, fruits, cereals and coffee.

The hotel itself was nice, clean, and I felt safe inside. The staff and facilities were good. However, I wish I had booked in a different area of San Francisco. While waiting for my Uber outside the hotel at 11am on my last day, a glass bottle was smashed across the pavement, which summed up some of the issues in the surrounding streets. There was a visible homelessness and drug problem nearby, along with broken glass and other unpleasant things on the pavements. As a solo female traveller, I did not feel comfortable walking around the area at night. This isn’t a criticism of the hotel itself, which was well maintained, but I would recommend researching the neighbourhood carefully before booking.
