Set on a hill in the centre of the Friuli region, Al Picaron overlooks the city of San Daniele, famous for its production of San Daniele ham. Formerly used as the hunting lodge of the Patriarchate of Aquileia, this historic building is currently a 3-star hotel with a Brasserie. open to both the public and hotel guests and offers fast service and good cuisine. Just 20 km from Udine, the hotel is found on a large green estate, an ideal setting for various events. Had trouble getting there for the first night, i had good communications with the staff, they were superb. Good breakfast and nice onsite restaurant with decent craft beers and a fab view, Fantastic place, look forward to my return.

the restaurant at the hotel is a great bonus. top menu, excellent local products. I recommend. they also offered a place to store my bikes, which was a bonus. People were very nice and the setup also the location are great.

Cheap and cheerful - functional hotel. Suitable for walkers / cyclists wanting low cost stop. Few ‘facilities’ in the rooms. Busy restaurant much used by locals at night. Excellent value for money.

“Passable only for a few days-”
-Close to San Daniele which is a slightly bigger village where you can have a proper coffee. -Hotel has its own restaurant but limited menu (not so many healthy options). The service is good- -Staff is kind and willing to help you (from the reception to the cleaning staff, everyone is so kind). -Rooms are clean

Location near the San Daniele town, walking distance, also to famous prosciutto restaurants. Good breakfast including prosciutto and eggs (included in room price), bike room with electricity charging. Good restaurant in hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised with sound isolation of rooms. On day of arrival there was a loud pary in restoran. But in room I did't hear anything.
