“Some maintenance would make the difference 🙏”

I’ll be honest, I’m a bit disappointed with my stay considering it was one of the most expensive. The hotel has got lots of potential but it looks a bit desolated / abandoned. Maybe it’s because it was low season (end of May) but lots of the communal areas need TLC / maintenance. We had a nice room with partial sea view and breakfast was really delicious, but other than that I can’t really rate it. The staff are all very sweet, of course this has nothing to do with them :)

Beautiful location, friendly staff, great food and the guest house itself is very well designed, tranquil and thoughtfully considered.

“Magical stay immersed in nature”

Magical stay combining immersion in nature with great design aesthetic and a sustainable approach to hospitality. We completely unplugged here, and I still dream of the shower overlooking the trees and ocean. Walking distance to the ocean, stores, restaurants, and only a short cab or bus ride from Mazunte or Zipolite (if you want a bit more activity at night). Truly every detail has been thought through here, including fantastic smelling organic bathroom products, beach towels and delicious breakfast.

The bedroom and bathroom was lovely, I liked that they provided bug spray, and bathroom products and beach towels. Gaby was very friendly and sweet when checking in. The breakfast was nice too!

The staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. We got the best advices from them and they made sure our stay was as good as possible.

Alan and Gaby were great hosts. Monte Uzulu is perfect located in walking distance to the beach and restaurants.

This is a very unique place. Other than most of the new developments in San Agustinillo this place respects nature and its surroundings. It’s not invasive at all. I love the architecture and all the Mexican details about it.

Lovely rooms, with the option to sleep with the sound of the ocean still around. A bit up hill, away from the street life. Great team, nice welcoming team, all great if you want hang around in this little quiet hippie like town …we enjoyed it

The rooms are absolutely stunning, and the terraces looking out to the sea are beautiful too. We loved evening - the chill out spaces, the breakfasts, the staff. That bath will live in my dreams for a long time! Also the commitment to sustainability was evident throughout the hotel.

The best about Monte Uzulu, apart from the view, the design, and the location is the host! Alan is an excellent host, available with the best recommendations and he made sure we were comfortable and happy even when we had some issues that needed to be looked at. The location is perfect, safe and after you walk down the stairs you are right at the heartbeat of San Agustinillo, and at the same time high enough so you have quietness and tranquility. The view from the Suite is exceptional.

Breakfast was fantastic, the decor is amazing and very tasteful, and the host was exceptionally friendly and helpful!

“Heaven!!!”

Everything was perfect, we didn't want to leave! We had the most amazing four night stay at Monte Uzulu. Alan and Ricardo made us feel so welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. San Augustinilo is a beautiful little town, and Monte Uzulu is tucked just away from the main street - close enough that you can pop down to the beach or lovely nearby restaurants within just a few minutes, but quiet and secluded enough that you can truly relax. We loved the morning breakfasts, relaxing on the balcony, and just generally all of the beautiful touches in the room. Highly highly highly recommend, we dream of coming back.

“Absolutely perfect”

It was perfect - beautifully designed, tranquil, elegant, with wonderful host Allan to tend to our every whim. Breakfast was delicious, the showers were perfect, secluded, beautiful garden, romantic, comfortable, beautiful sea views with sunset from our balcony and the sound of crashing waves at night. Our favourite stay by far during our month long travels through Mexico. Short walk to a quiet beach and tucked away from the main strip of Mazunte but still within walking distance. Get the sea view room, you won’t regret it.
