“Our best place in costa rica”
The bungalow was great with air conditionning, directly on the beach. That was pur best place in costa rica. Breakfast is really really good, the sea just at the door is fantastic. Just pleasure.

“Beautiful little beach stay”
As pictured, we were in a room right on the beach. It's a basic room so don't go expecting a super modern finish but the fan was powerful, the shower was hot and the location is unbeatable.

“Great to be directly on the beach”
We enjoyed our stay at Macao Beach Hotel. We had a cabina that directly faced the ocean, which was pretty special. We appreciated having access to a fridge nearby.

“Perfect bungalow hotel directly at the beach - with super lovely staff !!!”
It’s an very amazing small bungalow hotel directly at the beautiful Samara beach. There is a nice „whirlpool“ directly in front of the bungalows with great ocean view. You have a quite place for your privacy - but you can use all facilities like the bigger pool as well as the restaurant for breakfast from the connected hotel next to Macao. And the breakfast is really delicious!!! Supermarket only 2min walk. The staff is super lovely and they work really hard to keep the facilities well maintained. 100% recommendation !!! Hope to get the chance to stay there again. Thanks to the staff for the nice hosting !!!

So close to the beach so wonderful location. Clean and peaceful with a good breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and booked an extra night. You could also use the pool from the adjoining hotel.

“Great location on the beach, with good breakfast, staff support and views. NO AC however.”
Location on the beach was excellent - 52 steps from the bed to a morning swim. Reception staff very helpful and efficient. Rooms comfortable and well appointed - the addition of AC to these rooms would make this a great place to stay for multiple nights. Breakfast a walk to a hotel 2 spots down the beach (average breakfast with very average service - but great location)

“Lovely”
We stayed at Macao Beach for the last part of our honeymoon and enjoyed being right on the beach. The room was clean and well-kept, plus the staff cleaned our room daily (which really helps with all the sand you end up tracking in). The staff were friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was perfect. We enjoyed swimming in the ocean every day and relaxing.

A beautiful location, right on the beach, close to town and to lovely restaurants. Lovely to be able to lie in bed and hear the sea. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast next door good too and our daughters enjoyed being able to use the swimming pool. Stayed for 5 nights and it was the perfect end to our month long trip around Costa Rica.

“Lovely boutique style hotel right at the beach. Our best hotel in Costa Rica so far.”
Directly at the beach. Nicely designed. Quite small. Nice staff. Good information if you ask for anything. We also booked a dolphin tour through them which was a full success. The hotel must have recently added a tiny own pool (which is not in the images yet) - but we were even allowed to use the larger pool in the neighbouring hotel - a nice pool in a rainforest setting. In that hotel we were also served our great included breakfast.
