“Beautiful property, the pool was always clean and fresh and several lovely places to relax”

We stayed in the Barracuda from January 2 until January 30 2026. We were in apartment #3. The property was beautiful, the pool was always clean and fresh and there were several lovely places to sit in the shade to relax. We had a lovey view of the ocean. The breeze from the ocean keeps it cooler away from the town. The management will do anything for you. Danny picked us from the airport which is 2 hours from the property. He even stopped half way and bought us dinner! Either Martin or Danny were available at all times. They made you feel at home. The hotel is located outside of town, about a 15 min walk to the beach and town. However if you have mobility issues you will need a car as the last half kilometre to the property is a bit steep. I have to send a special thanks to both Danny and Martin. They literally saved my life. I was a stupid tourist who got myself stuck on the rocks between Sámara beach and Carrillo beach as the tide was coming in and I was literally trapped. I was able to call Danny and he found a local fisherman to find me and helped me swim to his boat. No one else could have saved me! I recommend The Barracuda 100% for your next vacation in the lovely town of Sámara!

Me and my friend had a very nice stay at the apartment. It's great value for money, really safe and with a stunning view and great pool. There's good parking space, easy access, a little tougher walk down to the village like others said but nothing major. Generally it's quiet and peaceful. It's a basic but very clean apartment. It could definitely do with some upgrades and modernization both apartment and common areas but it doesn't make too much of a difference. The owners are helpful too. The Internet worked good (I work remotely). I'd definitely recommend it and I'd come back.

Everything was clean and kept in great condition. Great view from the pool and short hike to the beach. Danny and his brother were awesome hosts.

View looked amazing from the pool area. Unable to stay ( due to issue with roof) but owner did give a full refund. Also he rang a few hotels he knew of but all fully booked.

Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Pool was great. View was amazing. Quiet.

Danny was great, funny, and very helpful. Amazing location and views but still less than 10 minutes walk to the beach, looking forward to returning some day 😀

Daniel was awesome. We used his services to pick us up from a hotel at Potrero and then to return us to the airport at Liberia. This made our 5 day stay at Samara workable and he has a great sense of humour and he and his brother did everything to make our stay comfortable and show us around the town. The pool area is very nice and kept very clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hike up the small hill as it gave us a bit of exercise after eating at many of the great restaurants of Samara.

Great views of the Samara beach and sunsets over the ocean and jungle canopy. Lots of space on the property to walk around, and see wildlife (howler monkeys, hummingbirds, iguanas). The pool and the sitting areas around the pool are great.

Location location location. Everything worked fine in the room the aircon was good. The double bed was comfy . Martin and Daniel were great hosts. The pool was and pool area was fantastic, also the wild life was incredible.

Great location, quiet and secluded with nice pool and beautiful views of the ocean. Short walk to beach and restaurants. Rooms are modest but more than adequate for my needs. Owners, Daniel and Martin were personable and accommodating.
