“Beautiful hotel but far from everything”

It’s a beautiful hotel with a really nice garden. Rooms are big and have everything you need.

Good place

This place was a safe heaven for me during my entire trip in the country. The owner and staff are extremely friendly and helpful, close to the beach, with airco and a fridge and mosquito net and a private bathroom. The breakfast is fine, the onsite restaurant is good and cheaper than the ones at the beach. They have private transfer from and to the airport which is very convenient. Absolutely recommended.

“Exceeded my expectations”

This hotel is really beautiful with a large, beautiful garden with lots of plants and a swimming pool. The breakfast is good (baguette, pancake, cake, muffin, butter, jam, chocolate spread, cheese, juice, tea and coffee). They also serve dinner here, which is both cheap and good. The rooms are spacious with a small private terrace. The standard might be simple, but this is one of my favorite hotels I have stayed at when travelling. They also offered me a better room, since it became available. The best part is the very kind, welcoming and helpful staff. I can highly recommend this hotel.

The owner was like a guarding angel, helped me with everything and was holding my hand in my first days in Senegal. An absolutely lovely place, with nice garden and restaurant. The crew is super nice and the breakfast was great. 10 minutes walk from the ocean.

Everything was perfect! Very very clean, calm and safe location, good Wifi and the best service I experienced in Senegal so far. The owner Zen will take care of you and will make your stay unforgettable. Also the banana trees and the nice pool make you feel like almost in heaven! The employees will treat you with all the honest kindness you can imagine and I'm not exaggerating :) Honestly, you'll never regret to book here.

- strong wifi - good size room - safe, clean & tranquil compound - peaceful neighborhood - bar / restaurant on site - good communication prior arrival - friendly & helpful staff - always available & happy to assist if needed - hot water in the shower - airport pickup arranged worked well - the driver was waiting outside with a name card of the hotel - pool - I didn't use it but there is one -;breakfast - plenty of coffee! - I don't speak French and their English is limited but we made it work :)

Room was very spacious (with extra smaller dining/chilling room) and clean. Air conditioning didn't work or was not included in the price I paid, so I was offered to move to a little more expensive room, but as it was not super hot at the time the fan was just fine. Matress and pillows were quite hard (as I later saw was like this in every place I stayed around Senegal), but I kinda liked it and had a really good rest. WI-FI was a bit on/off in the room but good in the bar Nice bar/restaurant with the garden and pool area. Food was amazing and portions were huge (I had yassa poulet and mafe), way more spicy that I'm used to but a Gazelle or two helped with the fire in my mouth. Breakfast is OK for the price you pay. As I only stayed for 2 nights I missed the djembe live show (once per week I think). Place was not super busy those 2 days so the ambient in the evening was quite calm, only had a chat with couple of other guys that stayed there, but I can imagine it is more lively when there are more guests. Staff was amazing, specially girls in the bar/restaurant in the evening and the owner. Only few speak english, but they find a way to help you. They organize an airport transfer and different tours (I did Bandia). Location is very quiet, I felt safe, beach is 5-10 min away, other than that there's not much around.

Auberge Africa Thiossane is a really charming hotel.  I stayed for four nights. My room was a really good size, with a fridge, fan, a/c, tv, a separate seating area, windows with lush tree-views on two sides, and cute decor.  The grounds of the hotel are unbelievably pretty and green. It's like a mini-jungle. I didn't go for a swim, but the pool has really strong jets (and multi-coloured lights) in the evening that were really relaxing on the legs. The beach is a five-minute walk away, and is really pretty and clean.  I ate several meals at the hotel, and each one was delicious. There is a staffed bar as well for any refreshments you may want. There are a few restaurants within walking distance too. Sen, the proprietor, helpfully sorted out excursions for me (Somone Lagoon and Sine-Saloum), as well as transfer up to Dakar. He is an incredibly friendly man and regularly checked in to make sure I was enjoying my stay. And I did 😊

“Peaceful place but the pool overly chlorinated”

The food is delicious and the staff friendly. Room was clean, we had a fridge, fan and aircon. Pool is good to have. WiFi available, not the strongest but ok. Its away from the beach but in a very quiet area.

The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The garden is really nice and the cuisine is local and fresh. Close to the beach and good position for exploring the area.
