“Dirty, shabby and overpriced small apartment”

We took the one-bedroom apartment. This is a list of negative points: - We were 3 people, but the apartment is very small. It is NOT AT ALL spacious as advertised on Booking.com. The bedroom is small. The couch takes a lot of space in the living/dining/kitchen room. There is so little space that the ventilator has to be put on the floor or on the dining table. On Booking.com the apartment is advertised for 5 people! It is not because the owner puts 2 beds and a couch that suddenly the apartment is suitable for 5 people. The apartment is maybe 40 m2. - The apartment does NOT have a balcony at all as advertised on Booking.com. - The only view available is over a metal fence and depressing buildings in the background. From the inner terrace you have a view over an ugly street and depressing buildings. - The place is dirty and shabby. It has humidity stains and cracks everywhere. - There are very few kitchen utensils: they are old, dirty and worn out. The kitchen is NOT AT ALL well-equipped as it is advertised on Booking.com. With the money the owner charges for the apartment, he could at least buy some new and decent kitchen utensils. - The furniture is old and dirty (e.g. the mattress has holes). Some furniture is even fixed with scotch tape. With the money the owner charges for the apartment, he could at least replace the old, dirty and broken furniture. - The additional bathroom does NOT have hot water. - The building reminds of a prison or military barracks. Barbed wire on the walls, fences everywhere, and three doors to access the apartment (ironically the apartment’s door is broken, and its key is useless). - The place is overpriced. Make yourself a favour: spend that sum of money for another accommodation.

The apartment feels like your own very quickly as it has a warm appearance and it feels good. That's the best I can describe it. It was clean and I felt safe. The neighbourhood in general felt safe. Nice view from the apartment. The air-condition is a great addition. Bathroom with a lot of space. Also the fridge was big enough for two people. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Really nice people. Very responsive and they help with everything. I got once brought a bag of shrimps as the host went to the fish market and I told her before that I would love to cook them. She even showed me how to prepare them properly. That was class!
