Situated in the peaceful Pelourinho neighborhood, Laranjeiras is a recently reformed hostel with free Wi-Fi, cheerful yellow exteriors and ornamental patios. It is 21 km from Luis Eduardo Magalhaes Airport. Accommodation at Laranjeiras Hostel includes dormitories with shared bathrooms, and private double rooms with en suite bathrooms and air conditioning. All have bright painted walls and wood furnishings. Guests at Hostel Laranjeiras can enjoy fresh crepes with melted chocolate, cream and strawberries in the Creperie. We stayed here for three separate nights and are happy we did. The location is perfect if you plan to explore the old city centre as we did, but also not hard to get an Uber to go to the bus terminal or airport, or other parts of the city. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We made use of the paid laundry service as well as of the opportunity to store our luggage. All very well! The rooms we stayed in were nice and clean and no complaints about the bathroom either.

The hostel is charming and very cozy. The room was very comfortable (loved the hammock!). They also have the nicest and most helpful staff I have ever met. Breakfast is also good.

It' location was excellent that you could walk to the main square within a few minutes. You could get reach to the Elevador Lacerda fast and arrived at the lower town at once. It's convenience to go to everywhere by bus or by Uber.

“great location, place needs some upgrades”
Location is prime, you're in the middle of the historical part of town and it's beautiful and gets veeery busy. You'll hear concerts from your room and the drums of Olodum from right downstairs. Noise stops around midnight though so you'll get good sleep. The place and area feel safe and a bunch of of police are stationed right outside day and night. Breakfast is plentyful and good, the common areas are old but nice and there is a water fountain to fill up your bottles. The aircon in the rooms comes on in the evening and if you're cold, let them know and they'll adjust it for you.
