Overview
Housed in a fully restored period building from the 1880s, this beautiful privately owned guest house is located in the middle of Saltvik village, right opposite the village church. The sandy Kvarnboviken Beach is 400 metres away. All of Kvarnbo Pensionat's individually decorated rooms feature a private bathroom. Antique furnishings and period pieces are found in all, along with a seating area and tea/coffee facilities. The owners can arrange wine and cheese tastings on request, as well as guided tours of the on-site 1930s workshop with motorcycles and belt-driven machines dating back as 1895. An outdoor BBQ, garden furniture and play area for children can be enjoyed during nice weather. Kvarnbo also has a communal fridge and microwave for guests. Breakfast is served each morning in the cosy dining room with fireplace, where free Wi-Fi access is available. Central Mariehamn is a 30-minute drive away, while Ålands Golf Club is 8 km from the property.

“Very good.”
Very local and authentic feeling of the whole place with classic style of the rooms and common spaces. A nice resort to stay at if you are looking for something else than a standard hotel. Breakfast was very good and local. Car is recommended to have while staying there as it is on the country side.

Airconditioning was real nice. The place was real beautiful. Like a museum. Breakfast was one of the best ever and Served to the table. Beach was real close. Sauna if you like. Beautiful old Church right around the corner and annual viking market real close too.

Charming ambience in a peaceful setting. The hosts are very thoughtful and gracious and create a wonderful atmosphere for guests. Breakfast is outstanding, a real feast, and my dietary requirements were well catered for.

“Perfect.”
The place was old but modern, beautiful, peaceful and clean. The staff was friendly and laidback. The breakfast was delicious with egological products. The sauna was great and including in the price. The cats made the stay perfect.

“A charming place for time travellers”
The place is just exceptional - a magnificent old-time house with its unique charm and spirit, managed by lovely owners who live in the same building. It is almost like travelling back in time when human lives were more harmonious -- just ideal for a holiday or intellectual inspiration. We had a top-level breakfast served individually in a beautiful dining room; we joined other customers reading books at distributed tables in the garden while enjoying a glass of wine or beer. We visited a small art gallery and even a short classical music concert performed by the staff. The location is very good -- just in the centre of the island, you can reach every corner easily. Some good restaurants are within a 5-10 min drive. The surroundings of the house include peaceful countryside views and a village church. An official swimming place is just 200 m away.

“Great and memorable stay in a beautiful location”
We had an amazing stay in Kvarnbo Pensionat. The room was pretty, comfortable and tidy, as were other facilities of the pensionat. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. All in all, the whole concept of the place was well thought out and left a great impression.

Perfect breakfast My bicycle tire leaked, and the male owner not only helped to contact the rental company, but also quickly helped us fix the bicycle when the Bicycle rental shop couldn't solve it in a timely manner.

A beatiful old house with the most kind people. Our room was super clean and comfortable. Loved swimming in the sea nearby and enjoyed a nice wood-heated sauna afterwards. Also breakfast was excellent and served to the table.

very friendy and servantminded service from all the personel. Breakfast was beautifully set for us at individual tables and served with detail and care. The interesting history of Saltvik comes true in the surroundings and the gesthouse keeper was happy to tell us about it. So was with the art gallery presenter as well.
