This was our second visit to Guesthouse Orquidea, a family-owned B&B. A lovely pool has been added on site since our last visit. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful at all times. Family pets lounge in the sun and are a lovely addition to the warm welcome. The Guesthouse is adjacent to the beach where you can swim safely while watching the Atlantic rollers in the distance. Rooms have an enclosed balcony where you can relax in a hammock and listen to the ocean. The location is perfect for anyone interested in watersports (kitesurfing etc). Also long walks along a beautiful beach with a few beach cafes dotted along the way. Two minutes' walk to the town centre with a good range of food options (we highly recommend the Sodade restaurant, advance reservation advised!) and plenty of supermarkets nearby for DIY lunches.

We loved our stay at Guest House Orquidea. The guesthouse is beautiful and extremely well located for a stay in Sal Rei, with the beach only a stone's throw away and many restaurants within 5-10 minutes of walking. We loved all the animals living at the guesthouse, it was decorated to a high standard and the swimming pool was also a nice surprise on arrival. The breakfast area was a lovely spot to start the day and everything was kept clean. It was also good value for money.

Wonderful stay at the Orquidea. Guest House in very good location next to the beach and a 10 mins. gentle stroll into Sal Rei for restaurants etc. The owners were also most helpful.

Breakfast was very good quality- local products, very fresh and tasty, homemade jams, yogurt and juice. Lovely quiet location in courtyard with beautiful plants. All super clean and the staff were very nice and helpful.

The owner of the Guest House is really friendly and well connected around the island. The different plants and trees everywhere, the little turtles and the proximity to the sea with its beautiful beach were amazing.

The facilities are perfect for the location - essentially straight on the beach. The staff are charmingly friendly, the owners helpful in every regard. The room spotless, comfortable and with great aircon. I couldn't get the sat TV to work but think that was me just being too much in holiday mode :)

We loved Guest House Orquidea, and Orquidea, the owner, was lovely. We traveled around Cabo Verde for about 2 weeks and this was our favorite place. A little pricier than other places we stayed but worth it. The breakfast is in a beautiful courtyard and breakfast is fruit, eggs, cheese, yogurt, bread, etc. Orquidea gave us good tips for traveling around. The property is very close to the beach but also conveniently located to restaurants in town. The room was nicely decorated, clean, and had a beautiful ocean view. Our balcony had 2 hammocks for relaxing and indeed we did relax. My husband and I are pretty laid back and aren't into resorts or luxury hotels. We prefer smaller more personable places. I would say Guest House Orquidea falls into the category of boutique guest house. It was the perfect setting for us for the end of our honeymoon. We were able to unwind and enjoy. I truly enjoyed speaking with Orquidea and her cousin. They were so warm and friendly. I really hope we get to visit Cabo Verde again in the future. If we do, we will definitely stay at Orquidea.

Perfect location for exploring Sal Rei, long walks on the beach and just relaxing. Lovely, comfortable room. Beautiful breakfast area.

Superb. Location was excellent, close to the beach and the town, it was a small oasis with palms, bougainvillea, banana trees. They arranged a local guide for us who was fantastic, we had two day trips with him exploring the island. The buffet breakfast was great, lots of choice and eggs cooked to order. The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful and exceeded all expectations. Thoroughly recommended.
