Perfect

Philip was extremely kind and passionate about the property and its history. He’s treating it with reverence and pride. I’d recommend this to everyone visiting Normandy. There’s not another experience. As he said, “you’re standing in history!” He’s absolutely correct. My only wish, we’d stay longer. I’ll visit again.

Excellent, a great place to stay and lovely people.

The property is amazing, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the chateau has amazing history, and linked to WW2, the hosts are the owners of the Chateau and have a brilliant museum on site. They are very accommodating and friendly and so is Toby the dog. A great place to stay.

A lovely setting, very friendly staff. We asked for advice on where we could eat, the hotel staff not only recommended somewhere but they booked our table for us. We just stayed one night but would definitely return.

An incredible and historic place to stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed for two nights and were very glad we did. Our room was in the quite recently renovated 15th century part of the Chateau up an amazing stone spiral staircase. Everywhere was very clean, nice shower and our bed was comfortable. Lovely breakfast in the museum section and loved meeting the family pets which roam the site. The Chateau houses the D-Day Collins Museum which is a truly historic venue hugely important in the D-Day Landings and absolutely full of the most incredible artifacts. I can't recommend it highly enough and commend the owners for their dedication in creating rooms where you can actually stay and know you are sleeping in a part of history and then after breakfast enjoy the museum experience which has clearly been lovingly put together. Truly a unique experience.

Great stay in a historic location.

We loved staying here. Our host was very welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable and the museum was just great. If you are a WWII enthusiast or even if you're not, I would recommend.

Beautiful Chateau with onsite Museum managed by passionate owners who care about their customers:)

Fantastic Chateau steeped in history, sympatheticly renovated, with lovely clean rooms, in a quiet location and amazingly friendly and helpful staff. AND a Museum onsite....the owners have tremendous passion and it shows throughout the whole property. The breakfast was delicious in their charming bar and we also enjoyed a lovely drink (draft beer) on arrival sitting in the spacious and beautiful courtyard. Utterly idyllic. Oh and the friendly dogs...a nice bonus (from a dog lover myself) ....we will be returning....thank you:)

For history and character, look no further!

This chateau brims with history and character, and the renovation is clearly a labour of love. Of particular note, a fantastic breakfast, attentive hosts, comfortable and charming gite accommodation.

Unexpected. Exceptional experience.

Unexpected. And Wonderful. This is a very unique place to stay. The hotel itself is in a building from the 1500’s and is part of an estate that the owner has been meticulously refurbishing. He and his wife are both very interesting people. They also have a wonderful Burnese Mountain dog. The building/hotel owner is an admitted enthusiast of WWII history. During war the building served as the headquarters for a German general and, after D-Day, for General James Lawton Collins. Part of the building now houses a very unique military museum (https://www.tripadvisor.ie/Attraction_Review-g608795-d25576850-Reviews-D_DAY_Collins_Museum-Sainte_Mere_Eglise_Manche_Basse_Normandie_Normandy.html). The bedrooms have all been recently decorated and are beautiful. Each room is named after a WWII general (Eisenhower, Bradley, Collins, etc.) Breakfast was terrific.
