Serge and Peter were so very welcoming. We also can’t leave out dear George. Beautiful spacious bedroom with views over the garden. Peaceful location. Delicious breakfast with home made jams, fresh pastries, bread, yoghurt and fresh fruit with cooked eggs (from their hens) mushrooms and bacon. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was excellent, especially the fresh eggs and omelettes, expertly cooked by Peter every day. Being able to eat either in the beautiful garden setting or the dining room within the main house was a great setting. We stayed in the Apartment with Terrace room which is lovely, a great space, very clean and with a comfy bed.

Beautifully furnished and very well maintained. The room was exceptionally spacious and with a very comfortable bed. Great nights sleep. The hosts were charming, took the time to welcome me on arrival and were always chatty and friendly. Breakfast was very good.

We stayed at this stunning property for 4 nights, an absolute highlight of our month vacation in Europe. We stayed in lovely accommodation everywhere we visited but this really is worth reviewing. We wanted to stay in rural Bordeaux prior to busy Paris. We can’t thank our hosts Serge & Peter enough for going above & beyond as hosts. Every inch of their house & gardens are exquisite & so tastefully & thoughtfully decorated. The beautiful Dordogne river is at the bottom of their garden, where enjoyed a long picnic with local cheese & wine.Our room was huge & opulent to say the least , a very welcome change to hotel rooms which can be tiny. Their breakfasts were deliciously sumptuous & served with a lot of love. Largely sauced from their garden & chickens . Lovely fresh eggs done many ways. They grow lovely fruit & make gorgeous jam. Special mention , Grand Marnier crepes .Peter & Serge were extremely helpful with great tips of local restaurants , chateaus, wineries . It is very close to St Emilion which is a must to visit. They booked restaurants for us & even suggested a private terrace to have quiet glass of wine in St Emilion. A lasting memory . Many thanks to two lovely & humble human beings & George & the goats.

A gorgeous property that was idyllic in every way. We stayed in the lodge and there was more than enough space, it really did exceed expectations. Everywhere was very well kept and we couldn’t have asked for more. Breakfast was sublime every day and our hosts Serge and Peter were fantastic, not to forget George!

The breakfast was outstanding, and enjoyed under the trees in the beautiful garden. Serge and Peter made certain everyone's tastes were met, and a bottomless pot of tea and coffee. The bar in the bathroom when climbing in and out of the shower was a very welcome bonus, as were the luxurious towels.

Gorgeous property on the banks of the Dordogne, beautifully and thoughtfully decorated throughout. Incredibly charming, friendly and informative hosts. Breakfast in their lovely gardens is a dream. The epitome of quiet, timeless luxury in a peaceful location but near to many great places to visit. We are already planning our next trip!

There is nothing not to like about the Domain des Monges, Peter and Serge are fantastic hosts, very friendly and so helpful in every way. The Domain des Monges is a beautiful house with a huge garden, pools and river frontage, the rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was delicious, freshly made with home grown produce and fresh eggs from Peter and Serge’s chickens every morning. Excellent standard all round. Peter and Serge made our holiday on thè Dordogne memorable. Highly recommended.

Our stay has been absolutey fantastic, Peter & Serge have been so, so friendly and kind! The whole accomodation is so special and so many thoughts have been put into everything. The breakfast was outstanding and everything was freshly made and home-grown!! We will definitely come again.

Stylish, comfortable and understated, you could not ask more of our stay at this country hotel. In beautiful gardens on the banks of the Dordogne, this meticulously renovated grand house is near perfect, thanks of course to its wonderful hosts Serge and Peter. Beautiful bedroom, marvelous pool, a breakfast that was stunning. Home-produced figs and honey with yoghurt, fresh pastries, their own eggs and so much more. Recommendations for local restaurants and sights. Stay here before you die, more than once.
