Overview
La Vieille Auberge is located in Saint-Privat-d’Allier, a 30-minute drive from Le Puy-en-Velay, and features guest rooms with LCD TVs, a meeting room and a traditional restaurant. There is such a nice lady doing her best to make you feel comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, but everything is veeeery old so the pricing is not reasonable I think.

The Auberge is located in the heart of the village and is adequate for one night stay. The room was spacious and the beds comfortable. The Reception lady was friendly and helpful.

“great position, very nice staff, rooms a bit tired”
The breakfast was croissants, yogurt and fruit. We were hiking and for hiking this is not a great breakfast. For hiking you also need some protein such as cheese, ham and possibley a hard boiled egg. The evening meal was good and nutritious.

The room was on the back of the building, so was very quiet. We had dinner there, which was excellent! I almost forgot my hiking poles when we left, but they let me back into the room to get them, no problem.

“The water when we tried to shower was luke warm.”
The staff did not let us in when it stated on the website. We waited outside in the cold. They did not answer the phone or email. When the staff turned up they were rude.

“Disappointing.”
A very old tired hotel in need of upgrading. There was hot water and a comfortable bed but the food was very poor. Potatoes not fully cooked for example. It gets custom because it is on the walking route and people only stay one night.
