Happy to find that the French provincial hotel is not yet extinct. I suppose it is only the good ones that have survived. And this is a good one.

“A very clean and tidy hotel”
The hotel was especially clean, tidy and we'll kept. Although they served breakfast, which was not included, there was a small area next to reception with a microwave and kettle with free sachets of coffee sugar and tea, together with Madelaine cakes. The car parking was on site and out of harms way.

“Disappointing”
Firstly the room was too hot without air con so the window had to be left open at night which lead to mosquito bites, there was a fan in the room which was noisy and all it did was push the hot air around. The room was however clean. On arrival the guy who showed us the room was pleasant enough but seemed to lack basic knowledge of the immediate area, when asked if he could suggest somewhere to eat he said that nowhere was open on a Sunday but there was some something going on in the fields by the lake (400 yards away) where you might get some food, this turned out to be an annual local event that any local should have knowledge of, worse still 2 doors down from the hotel was a bar selling bar snacks such as charcuterie and an attached restaurant with a good menu. Why we weren't pointed in this direction I have no idea. The 2nd criticism is the staff member on the following 2 mornings was rude and made us feel unwelcome, the exact opposite of what you would hope and expect from the service industry
