“Bring your own mop and bucket”
There's a lot to like about this place - quiet, interesting location; the trinquet court on site; a very nice restaurant on the property with a lovely garden (although a somewhat brusque female waitress who, while extravagantly buoyant with her countrymen and -women, equally extravagantly does not care much for the non-French, notwithstanding the fact that at least some of our party attempted to speak to her in French) however the "housekeeping" leaves everything to be desired. Upon arrival our floor was sticky and covered in sand, presumably left by the previous guests (or perhaps even the guests before those guests). We missed the very brief window for the next day's cleaning shift and, despite having been gone for several hours, returned to a non-cleaned room. I called reception, explained the situation and was told that I had indeed missed the moment because I'd hung the do-not-disturb sign on the door that morning; true enough but for literally 2.5 minutes immediately prior to our second departure for the day. A cleaner was nonetheless sent up; she and her bucket were in and out of the room in less that seven minutes, leaving the floor precisely as sticky and sandy as it had been when we arrived, and a pile of wet towels on the end of the bed. Lovely!
