Overview
Moulin de Gaubourg is a guest house in a former watermill set on a wine-producing estate, with a shared lounge and a terrace offering views of the vineyard. It is located in Saint-Mélaine-sur-Aubance, just 15 km from Angers and 5 km from Chateau de Brissac. Each room is decorated individually and features a private bathroom with a hairdryer. There are also a flat-screen TV, free WiFi and tea and coffee making facilities. You can enjoy a river view and a garden view from all the rooms. A homemade breakfast is available each morning at Moulin de Gaubourg. Guests can also sample the regional wine, upon request and at an extra charge, and evening meals can be prepared if reserved in advance. At Moulin de Gaubourg you will find a garden. Great location, in the middle of lush greenery, very peaceful. Perfect for family relaxing stay. Close to Chateau Brissac. Sophie, the host, helped us with good recommendations and made the stay delightfully French through delicate rooms design and delicious breakfast.

Very friendly owner. We were welcomed very kindly despite an unexpected late arrival. The room was big and convenient, everything is very nicely renovated. Breakfast was fantastic.

“Warm hospitality, in a nice converted farmhouse setting, with a cosy atmosphere with presence.”
The breakfast was excellent in a familial/personal dining room. The hostess was very genial and helpful about telling us the local places to visit. Wifi worked well. In the lobby area, there is a glass floor under which you can see the rushing stream - proof that this was an old water-driven mill!?

“Fantastic experience”
Fantastic stay on a cycling trip with friends through France. The hostess cooked us a truly memorable evening meal with locally sources ingredients - mainly from her own garden. It was fantastic, and great value.

Wonderful breakfast. Fresh fruit, baguette, coffee, rhubarb jam, apple juice. Our hostess was so helpful and accommodating, and booked ahead to a restaurant for an evening meal for us. A beautiful, rural location, with an ancient history.

“Excellent place to stay”
An extremely charming place tucked away from the main road and next to a vineyard. Extremely pleasant hostess, great room with ensuite, we had booked dinner which was excellent, sharing a table with other guests for dinner and breakfast was an absolute delight, great walks nearby and an honesty bar for beer etc. A lovely place to stay if you are happy in the countryside. Wine tasting is available at the vineyard, needless to say - we bought some!
