I chose Gure Lana intentionally for my return to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and it exceeded every expectation. Christian and Genevieve are the kind of hosts who make you feel like you're coming home—their warmth is genuine, not performed. The property itself is beautiful, a perfect mix of Basque charm and real comfort, with every detail cared for in a way that feels effortless. Before or After walking the Camino, or simply visiting the Basque region on a holiday, this is exactly the kind of place you want to land: peaceful, welcoming, and deeply rooted in this special town.

Gure Lana is a great place to stay to start your Camino Journey. We were 3 ladies, and had booked a 2 bedroom room, which was very clean and spotless, beds very comfortable, our hosts were very friendly and helpful (hung up our wet poncho's in the garage over night), breakfast was continental with fresh fruit and pastries, good coffee! It was a short stroll into the top of the town. Ideal location. WIFI excellent. Bathroom had everything we needed.

The owners are very lovely couple (with great English language skills if you don't speak French). Breakfast Omelette was amazing as was the full breakfast. Room was large had everything needed plus a bath. Bed very comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone considering staying here.

“Exceptional food, incredible hosts who went above and beyond- it’s a ten from us”
Hosts Christian and Genevieve were warm and welcoming from the first messages confirming our reservations. Nothing was too much trouble. when we arrived soaked they laundered our clothes, and went above and beyond when they saw me lost in town and drove me to mass so I wouldn’t miss the service - a deep appreciation for this marvellous couple. The en-suite was so fabulous I even took a photo for if I ever remodel mine, see below.

“Perfect Location & Incredible Hospitality”
Gorgeous room in a lovely b&b with incredibly nice owners. This place is the perfect location for the village, being a 5 minute walk passed the Citadel, through the old town into the village, but out in the quiet countryside with stunning views. I couldn't give a recommendation more highly for a Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port stay. P.S. breakfast was also perfect 👌
