Very friendly employees, very good mattress, and good breakfast.

Unfortunately we left the Hupsa Pfannala with bad feelings. We spent here one night and the dinner during our bike tour and, comparing it with other places in Alsace, I would define it as a place to squeeze money from tourists. Rooms were nice looking and charming, just important to ignore the mold in the shower and do not look too close around. The bed had a super warm duvet, instead of some lighter bedding for the summer. Floor in the breakfast area was sticky. “Funny surprise“ with our bikes. I initially asked where could I leave them, so that they’re not on the sidewalk. They told me that they had a garage: great. At checkout, they asked me to pay for storing the bikes. They failed to communicate clearly that they would change for this service. The problem is not a few bucks more to pay, it’s the lack of proper communication which makes the whole experience unpleasant.

Very nice owners and personnel, very nice room, good bathroom with good shower, bed comfortable. Very nice breakfast. This time we could not eat here because of a christening, but we have had very nice food here before.

It was cozy and pittoresque. The music in de dining/breakfast room was good chosen. Mostly quiet jazz.

Chambre le Hupsa is a very nice place to stay. We had the loft apartment, charmingly done with everything you need. For tall people a bit difficult because of the low beams. And we normally prefer a bathroom with a shower, but this bath is modern and fun. We also had supper here which was very good as was the breakfast.

This is listed as a Bed and Breakfast but it is so much more. Reception is closed from 10 am to 17 pm but otherwise it is a three star hotel. The room had a private bathroom and was decorated to a high standard. The restaurant specialises in tarte flambee which is a French pizza with the base made from unleaven bread and is very good. The wine list is extensive. It is situared in the middle of the charming village of Saint Hippolyte with free parking across the road by the church.

Quaint location. Nice room. Easy parking in the centre of the village. Lovely host. DELICIOUS BREAKFAST.
