I have never left a negative review online. Our recent experience at La ferme de Jeanne was so terrible that I am leaving this review so people, particularly with children, are aware. We are a family of 5 (children: 6, 2 and a 12 month old). My parents booked us a ‘family room’ (double bed and two singles) some months ago. They requested a cot at the time although we accept that we did not include details of the children. This was an inadvertent error. They received email confirmation from booking.com confirming a cot would be provided. We were in France for a family celebration and had been travelling for 2 weeks without any issues being raised regarding our children. When we arrived the hosts were immediately unwelcoming and said that we could not stay there as they did not accept children. I showed them the booking confirmation which said that a cot had been approved and we were allowed to stay. Two days later, we wanted to use the pool. The man aggressively told me that the pool was closed to children as it was not safe and they would splash/make noise. There were no other guests in the house that day. He then told me that I needed to ‘surveiller’ my children. He told me to follow him and he showed me the table setting where my son had eaten breakfast. There were some smudges of yoghurt on the table cloth which he said was unacceptable - it was in no way a significant mess. We are conscious of children making a mess at meal times and tidy up after them as much as possible. We also sensed the unwelcome here so made special efforts to keep the kids calm and quiet and not cause any damage. I did not feel comfortable and we left. I do not have enough space to relay in detail what happened next but the man was very aggressive towards my parents and when my parents left their room key at reception a day early, he phoned my father and angrily threatened to call the police.

Breakfast was super tasty and the dining room was beautifully decorated. My bedroom was large, as was the king size bed, decor was an eclectic mix, however it worked well. Also the views from the pool area were outstanding

A beautiful location with amazing views and a lovely swimming pool. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The property itself was very atmospheric with lots of interesting historical features and charm. My bedroom was beautifully decorated with lovely bed linen and very good shower. I would recommend you pack a cork screw if you fancy a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening to get the most of the views.
