Really nice and friendly service by the owner. Nice rooms with comfy beds. Great breakfast with tasty camembert and eggs from the house chicken. Shelter for our motorcycles and great advice for nearby dinner. It was the perfect stay in Cotentin and we would definitely go back.

“An enjoyable stay”

We had a very enjoyable one night stay and would have liked to have stayed longer. Our room was lovely and very quiet. The breakfast was good and Kristel made us feel very welcome.

Really welcoming owner and large, comfortable bed. Glad that a kettle was provided (although the lead was a little short).

“Two nights of bliss!”

From our first arrival & greeting with Kristel in the gorgeous location of the village to her showing us the room...wow it was so lovely and spacious. The furnishings were delightful & the tea tray a good addition. A very modern, efficient shower & hand basin with soft towels. The bed was very comfortable & we had an excellent night's sleep in tranquil surroundings. Kristel provided a delicious light salad supper with an aperitif of local pommier & gazpacho soup, with a choice of drinks to accompany the main course, local cider, beer & wines. The dessert was exceptional, tarte au pommes! Breakfast was yet another delicious meal with a homemade addition of a cake or pastries, to the usual cereals, bread & homemade preserves, fruit juice & coffee & tea. The garden is beautiful with lawns & beds of roses & other flowers, very "cottage style". Parking was secure on site and easy.

Beautiful location, lovely bedroom tastefully furnished. Fab breakfast with lots of home made produce. Best of all was Kristel’s warm welcome and cheerful nature. Perfect hostess.

“The nicest place I’ve stayed in France!”

This was by far and away the nicest place I have stayed in France, and I have visited France many times. Kristel our host was absolutely wonderful. We arrived early as we were on a cycling trip, after messaging her she immediately drove over and was very happy to let us check in early ( note also there is a large garage where we could store our bicycles). As we’d been a little disorganised we hadn’t thought about the evening meal until the last minute. Kristel very kindly without any notice made us an absolutely delicious meal. The accommodation itself is also perfect , extremely comfortable rooms , beautifully designed, with an excellent shower. The included breakfast was also to a very high standard with a large selection of homemade jams, bread , yoghurt and lovely chocolate cake. As we were cycling to catch the ferry the in the afternoon we also took advantage of the pannier picnics that Kristel can make for a for small cost, which were also excellent. Highly recommended, the best guest house I have stayed in France!

It was, quite simply, wonderful! Kristel is a generous, gracious and caring host who makes every effort to make her guests feel special. There are so many excellent examples of what makes this such a superb place to stay - to name just a few: Spacious rooms with large, super-comfortable beds; Beautifully and elegantly presented, the whole place oozes relaxation and the feeling of being pampered; Spotlessly clean and peaceful; The opportunity to share a superb table d'hote with other guests (The scallops were the best we have ever tasted!) We only stayed one night, en route to the ferry at Cherbourg - we should have stayed longer and hope to so, in the future.

“Delightful”

A lovely B&B with good facilities and welcoming hosts. Sadly, the evening meal that others had enthused about was not on offer the day we visited but we had food with us and a picnic in the pretty garden was a delightful alternative. The breakfast was excellent.

A wonderful welcome from the owner who clearly enjoyed running the chambre d'hôtes and was interested in meeting people and providing high standards. Good breakfast with eggs from her own hens and home-made jam.

“A La Ferme Saint-Germain is an absolute gem and we would highly recommend it!”

My wife and I recently had a lovely two-night stay at La Ferme de Saint Germain and we would be very happy to stay there again! Our hosts, Kristel and Fabien, were outstanding: they were genuinely warm, welcoming and extremely attentive to our needs and the needs of other guests. Kristel speaks English and is keen to practise; she volunteered lots of useful information about points of interest in the surrounding area. Leaflets and maps were also available. The gîte is ideally located for visiting the coastline from Barneville-Carteret to Cherbourg with spectacular scenery, small towns and pretty villages all within about 45 minutes’ drive of Saint Germain. The guest accommodation at La Ferme de Saint Germain was first class. The rooms have been renovated to a very high standard and are tastefully furnished with lots of personal touches. There is ample on-site parking and guests are welcome, indeed encouraged, to make use of the large, well-maintained garden. Our room was spotlessly clean as were other communal areas. The breakfast was excellent with home-made cakes, a selection of delicious home-made jams, fresh bread and as much fresh juice, tea, coffee etc. as guests could want. The gîte also offers table d’hôte on request: this is something that we would definitely try out on a future stay.

Interesting and fun decor, well thought though to ensure the room works, comfortable bed. Great typical French breakfast with home made jams and fresh pressed orange juice.

The location was quiet, peaceful and the accommodation very comfortable. We were offered dinner which was excellent. The hosts are delightful people who gave us a warm welcome.

The room was very nice, very new (great shower), very tasteful design, very clean. Kristel was always very friendly, uncomplicated and helpful. Family dog - so cute and friendly. We recommend coming here, it is nice for couples and families. The Cotentin Peninsula offers wonderful beaches for a calm vacation (best on wheels).
