“Awful uncomfortable bed and depressing cramped and shabby property.”
The worst thing was the bed, it was extremely uncomfortable. It was advertised as a double bed but was twin beds pushed together. The mattresses were so soft and old that when me and my partner put our weight on them a ridge and large gap opened up. It should not be advertised as a double bed! We both got backache. The bed linen was thin, worn and shabby. The property had been furnished with mismatched furniture and decor that was ancient. It was an extremely depressing place to be. It was cramped and the table for eating our breakfast was positioned at the top of the stairs which meant that there was a danger of falling downstairs. The stairs themselves were painted with gloss paint and dangerous if care was not taken. The property description property does not include the large amount of stairs. The hot water situation was a puzzle initially as there was only hot water in the morning and we couldn’t wash dishes or have a shower in the evening until I mentioned it to the property owner, who without an apology stated that the hot hot water was on a timer. She then set this so we could have hot water all day. In renting this property, I expected hot water all day and would expect a refund for this failing. There was no ventilation and no heater in the shower room. though there was a high window which could There was a water leak from the shower to the downstairs flat which was because the shower sealant had deteriorated so much. We pointed this out to the owner who carried out a repair. The shower head is old, water comes out in a splutter. The non stick pans are extremely scratched. The floors hadn’t been mopped properly. There was no vacuum cleaner or mop to clean the place. The skylight was filthy with an old damaged blind. The other windows had no curtains which affected our sleep as sunlight streamed in. There was a broken floor tile which could not be walked on with bare feet. We left early and found somewhere else as it was such a depressing place to be.
