Kuukkeli Log Houses Porakka Inn offer accommodation in traditional snag-timber log houses surrounded by the nature of Lapland. Situated a few hundred metres from the gate into Urho-Kekkonen National Park, this property is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Saariselkä. Kuukkeli Log Houses Porakka Inn is divided in 4 buildings; the accommodation building and sauna house are for customers use. Main building and storage house are on private use. The main building and accommodation building are joined by an outside corridor and there is a children's play ground between all the buildings. Accommodation breakfast is served between 8:30 to 10:30 at Cafe-Eatery Kuukkeli, located in Shopping Center Kuukkeli at Kiveliöntie 8. A number of activities are offered in the area, such as skiing, snowmobiling, the Northern Lights and hiking. The 360 degree view location of Kaunispää hill is 5 km from the property. Ivalo Airport is 21 km from the property and there is a regular bus service after each flight arrival.

“Nice little place, calm and accessible. Good value for the price and a nice stay!”
Breakfast was fair enough a standard breakfast but it is away from the property 10-15min walk to the shopping mall. the property itself is great super close to the cross country track has a sauna and also a voucher for a sauna experience!

“Good shared accommodation in log building”
There are 7 double rooms with 2 shared toilets each for men and women, 1 shower each gender and shared kitchen living room. There is also sauna in a separate building for this accommodation and other cabins. We had the shared kitchen, bathroom and sauna all to ourselves as it was out of season making it a very comfortable stay. Not sure what it would be like with 26 other people! Kitchen is well set up. Breakfast in hotel up the road was excellent.

It was clean. The location was perfect, we saw 4 times the northern lights at the accommodation. There was enough space to park your car.

The nature surrounding the lodge, a wonderful and warm atmosphere was inside. Very good and various breakfast!! The sauna was amazing and you can start ski and walk trail almost from the door!!

Cute and nice log house, equipped with everything needed, nice communal living room space, clean bathroom, well equipped kitchen and a pretty small bedroom, with fridge/freezer. Also great was the sauna (two saunas, one for males and one for females), which was on and hot every evening, with outdoor space looking into the snowy forest. The breakfast place was around 20 min walk away and the breakfast itself was great, with a variety of breads, pastries, fruit, porridge, salad, juices, coffees,... definitely enough to fill me up.
