The biggest advantage is the direct access to the Balcony Walk, which is perfect. The location is very quiet and peaceful, ideal for relaxing. We also really enjoyed the good dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended

Very nice and tactful host. Minimal communication, trusting, unobtrusive. Small sleeping quarters, but great location. Large common areas (highly recommend dinner).

Excellent accommodation at a perfect spot. Nice view into the canyon from the room. Because we didn't have a 4WD we could arrange a pick-up at Al Hamra at an extra cost. A good service offered by the host, who was very friendly.

Perfect place! Waking up seeing sunrise on your bed! And just at the starting point of the balcony walk! Everything clean and well-equipped. Dinner is also delicious.

Location is perfect and the host family is lovely. We could watch sunrise direct from our bed and the walking trail W6 starts just from the guest house. I recommend 4x4 car if you are not used to drive small roads without asphalt but we didn’t find it difficult with 2 wd car. We loved the tiny village on mountains. Could have stayed there longer.

“Perfect stay with amazing views”

The location of the guest house is amazing. Just the perfect place to watch the sun rise (even from bed if you want, because of the glass front) or enjoy the view of the mountains. It is located next to the starting point of the famous W6 hiking trail - Balcony Walk. The served dinner and breakfast was tradtional and very tasty for a reasonable price. The staff is extremly welcoming! We arrived early and were welcomed with dates and omani coffee till our room was ready. Everybody in this small mountain village is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere around the village is great (be sure to check out the handmade souveniers from sheep wool etc) The Jebel Shams is a must see, when you are traveling in Oman. We traveled up to the village with a 2WD medium sized car. The elevation is mostly on asphalt road in the beginnging. The unpaved road (around 8 kilometres ) is mostly in good condition (if something happens to your rental car, insurance might not cover the damage when travelling on unpaved roads, be sure to check that out). I would recommend to walk the last kilometre to the village though since the last part is really bumpy and I don´t think our car would have made that part. Many people are driving that short distance, we only walked like 10 metres and a local stopped and took us to the guest house. It is also possible to drive till the starting point of the unpaved road, some locals are offering taxi service in a 4WD from there (I didnt ask for the price though).

The food was super yummy. The two hosts were super kind, proper locals telling a lot of stories. They spoke very well English. The view from the rooms was exceptional, and the terrace has an amazing view down the canyon!

It’s a beautiful place with a very friendly owner. He invites you to his home for dinner and breakfast, where everyone eats together on the floor in a traditional way, which is very nice. The room was clean and comfortable, and in the morning we could enjoy the sunrise right from our bed. Definitely recommended!
