Overview
Offering a restaurant and a private beach area, the environmentally-friendly Basecamp Oulanka is located in Kuusamo, next to Oulanka National Park. Parking and bicycle rentals are free. Basecamp’s wood-panelled rooms have a desk and a private bathroom with a shower. Guests can enjoy lake- or garden views. Some rooms include a balcony. Skiing, cycling and fishing are popular area activities. Fat bikes and ski equipment can be hired on site, and a ski storage room is also available. The well-known Karhunkierros hiking trail is found nearby, as is Jyrävä Waterfall. This lodge is 55 km from Kuusamo Airport.

Friendly and welcoming staff, with a very pleasant atmosphere. The sauna included in the accommodation was a lovely surprise. An incredibly beautiful place that makes you want to come back again.

Great place to be. It's possible to start any hiking trail directly from the basecamp, e.g. small bear trail with stunning views around the trail and several picnic areas along the way. Nature feeling pur! Sauna included (sauna hours to be reserved for private use). The cost for dinner can be booked on top, but prices for salat, main dish and cake are a little too high (25 - 35€/persons depending on the main dish). But overall it was a nature experience of it's best. The basecamp can really be recommended.

The location was good, close to Karhunkierros. You could swim at a nice beach whenever you wanted. In the evening, there was a private sauna shift. Breakfast was good also.

“Very nice place to explore the region!”
The room was nice and had all we needed. Breakfast good and the dinner was especially delicious. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it. The location was good, but especially if you want to explore that specific area, because it is quite remote compared to other places.
