We had an amazing time at Lights of Kazinga. The kids are kind and loving, it was great to be part of their lives for a short while, it's an unforgettable experience. Shamia is absolutely fantastic, she was very helpful and informative regarding the kids life, needs and the way she leads them to have a better life is admirable. There is opportunity to help them by learnig the way to make coffee and with that helping their own business. Apart from that awesome experience our room was great, clean and well equipped. They have their own chef who makes tasty food. We highly recommend this wonderful place.

“Dont let this stop you from booking.....”

The biggest plus here is the staff. Unlike many we've met in hotels, here were quite proactive and prompt to respond. All we met were very polite and accommodating. The rooms are clean and as long as your considering the price, it's well worth the money. A nice firm double bed takes up most of the room. The food is okay, not a great choice though. Mine was tasty even if it was a little tough. Love the ethos of the homestay. Plenty of working power sockets.

Very nice staff, good local food. Very nice 2 hour hike visiting the twin crater lakes. Quiet at night.

“A heartwarming experience”

Outstanding staff and al fresco meals.

The room was very nice and clean. We had amazing lunch when we arrived but it was quite expensive (10 USD). There is a possibility to wash your clothes for 10 USD. Shamia organized for us very nice boat trip on the lake for 30 USD per person. She also organized very nice community walk where we visited farm and got told about vanilla, cocoa and some other tropical plants for 10 USD per person.

It was more than we could expect. From the very beginning Shamia and Hope took the very best care of us. They helped with organizing all transport, safaris, showing us around and introducing children from the orphanage they also take care of. Not to mention delicious food, coffee and possibility of doing laundry. All activities, meals, safaris were in reasonable price. Private safaris with our guide Ayub highly recommended - very patient guide, he looked for animals to see for us and was waiting as long as we wanted to stare at animals :) The view for the QE National Park exceptional. We felt like at home.

Nice location for entering Queen Elisabeth National Park.

We stayed for 2 nights in August while visiting QENP and enjoyed it very much. Clean and comfortable rooms, nice warm shower, location close to the park and great food. But most of all: very friendly and welcoming people that helped us in any way and made us feel relaxed and at home.

Located close to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Food was simple but okay and reasonably priced. Nice garden. Staff was friendly. Owner was helpful organising a boat trip.

“Authentic experience!”

Just outside QENP, ideally situated in a very quite garden we stayed 2 nights at the homestay. Great hospitality and a warm welcome! Facilities where great, wifi working, hot water and a great garden to relax, but above all, a very friendly staff. A good initiative to support the orphanage!

Hamza and his wife made sure we didn’t miss anything. Fabulous location and spectacular food, all the staff very friendly. Thanks to his knowledge, Hamza was very helpful in organising our activities and even gave us valuable advice on how to continue our trip. His wife was also very kind and took us for a walk and to get to know the community, we saw the cocoa plants, a beautiful viewpoint over a lovely lake and of course we were able to visit the orphanage which is two minutes away from the accommodation; the children are so sweet and it’s incredible what Hamza and his family have managed to build to give these children a better future. “Amazing stay!”

Our favourite stay in the whole of Uganda! We were greeted with delicious homemade mango juice with fruit from the garden. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, large bathroom with a great hot shower. We were served dinner on the balcony, there was so much food and every single thing was delicious! It's an ideal location for visiting Queen Elizabeth NP and they were able to organise our chimp trekking permits for us very easily. I highly highly recommend staying here!

It is a new accommodation very close to queen Elizabeth national Park. The staff treat you with a lot of love and make everything to make you feel comfortable and happy. Also they support to many children and diferent people in the community of kyambura. They can help you with many activities around,even outside the national park. The dinner was super,the room very clean and all people around are very welcome
