It's a truly magical place - up on the Monte Laura with a breathtaking view on the mountains, in a tiny cute village. The hosts are extremely nice and helpful, the home made dinner was delicious, we also got to taste a fantastic local dish while waiting for our dinner. There was a lovely party going on, with playing instruments and signing - truly unforgettable experience, we will definitely come back!

La Bola is located in a beautiful small village in the mountains. The view is perfect. Room was clean, hot water, warm duvet, delicious food.

the location is awesome, it is so remote that there is only solar/battery electricity. It takes a 30 minute steep climb on a narrow road to get there. The Rancilio espresso machine is gas powered! Rooms simple but adequate, it is between hut and hotel. But: the food is so delicious!!! Try the risotto, prepared by the owner himself: you have never tasted anything like it. I am over 60 but the steak I had there was surely the best in my life. Not cheap though but the food is worth it!

“Exotic and restful stay away from civilisation”

Incredible room in a quiet village up in the mountain. Hard road to get there but it was worth it. Really nice host also ! For motorbikers like us, this is a must during a roadtrip in the swiss Alps.

The location is beautiful with excellent views from the terrace. As also noted by other visitors, the drive up is quite adventurous, but the view surely makes up for it. Please bear in mind that this is a simple lodging with shared toilets and showers and limited electricity (you can charge your phones). Very good food and excellent breakfast as well as very kind services from the host throughout!

“Amazing place, view, host and fun drive up!”

What a place! Super nice and polite host, the food was amazing! Comfy beds, quiet atmosphere, beautiful view from outside. The place is located in Laura, at 1300m asl, that means you need to drive up from Roveredo to Laura. The road: yes, it's narrow but it's not THAAT bad. It has several passing places, so 2 cars fit perfectly if you just drive carefully. It's about 10km / 30 mins long. We did it with a 9-seater van (mercedez vito) and it was no problem, not even the tunnel. There was a landslide mid August and they were cleaning the road with bulldozers, so some time restrictions applied to drive up (e.g can only during lunchtime or after 5pm. No restrictions to go down). Phone signal was good, was able to remote work from there using my phone's 4g+

“Absolutely wonderful stay and scenery”

Givi, the owner is an absolut wonderful person. He make dinner for the guests by himself and is helpful in all regards. The terrace is stunning with an incredible view across the mountains. Beware that there is NO WIFI and ONLY LIMITED electricity access (for me, this made the stay even better. Enjoy a day offline). Also the road up to la bola was only accessible from 5pm onwards because there were roadworks done. Absolutely a remarkable stay!!

“Wonderful getaway”

We went for a night away in the mountains and it did not disappoint! It has a gorgeous view and we found the road to get up there really fun and enjoyable- it was part of the adventure! Although the owners couldn’t speak much English or German, they tried their best and Google Translate came in handy! we enjoyed their homemade Italian pasta which added to the Italian experience.
