“Maginot Line Bunker Memories”

We spent the weekend in an old bunker—solid, restored, and full of history. Outside, it looked like a quiet farm in a tiny village in France; inside, it felt like a living museum. By the kitchen window, spent shell casings sat in a glass case, tucked just behind the teapot. A rusty combat helmet lay on the lawn, weathered by time. Barbed wire still lined the window—a silent reminder of the past. The place was calm, almost cocoon-like, but every corner spoke of history. I’m a history buff, and I was completely in my element. The hosts were welcoming, serving breakfast before we left. We said our goodbyes, already knowing—we’d be back.

Fabian was extremely helpful and obliging. He prepared a lovely breakfast - including a bottle of local wine to take away. The bunker was our favourite location after 14 nights staying in different places in Germany, Holland and Belgium. The bed was big and very comfortable. Highly recommendable!

Everything is perfect. Friendly welcome, beautiful village and countryside. It is a very comfy and well-appointed quirky living space. Wish we had booked for more nights.

We chose this property because of the reviews and it's uniqueness, and we were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were met by Walt and immediately offered a dry place under their personal carport to park our motorcycles for the evening. Despite the weather it was a fantastic location and the bunker exceeded our expecations with it's location and the surroundings. We loved the outlook and Walt was helpful and willing to assist with any of our requests, including the recommendation for dinner. We enjoyed the entire experience of being there, having milk and juice provided the evening before was pleasant. The well appointed bunker was fantastic to stay in for the evening and renovated bathroom was also very nice. Breakfast in the morning was brilliant, with meat, cheese, bread, fresh jams and lovely croissants, taken in the setting of the back yard enjoying the view. It was a wonderful stay, that we highly recommend.

“Exceptional stay in a unique historic WW2 bunker”

We love staying in unusual places - so this was a must almost as soon as we saw it. What we couldn’t have known was just how truly exceptional our hosts would be (and we have stayed in over 70 places in the last 12 months alone). Fabien in particular was always looking to ensure our stay was perfect - from a bottle of sparking wine to enjoy the sunset in the garden on our arrival, to selecting special cheeses for our breakfasts, the history of the house, where to go in the local area. This was a truly exceptional stay in every respect. Oh, and we loved the bunker and how thoughtfully and well it had been fitted out too.

The private car parking, conveniently located right next to the bunker, added to the ease of our stay. The exclusive access to the bunker augmented our experience, providing an added layer of privacy which we thoroughly appreciated. Our hosts were incredibly warm and inviting, surpassing any level of hospitality we’ve previously encountered. They exhibited a genuine eagerness to accommodate our needs, which greatly enriched our stay. The location of this BnB was the cherry on top. Positioned perfectly for our journey towards the Alps, we couldn’t have chosen a better retreat for our sojourn. All in all, our overnight stay at this extraordinary BnB was a remarkable experience that beautifully blended a sense of history, comfort, scenery, and unparalleled hospitality. We wholeheartedly recommend it to any traveler seeking a unique and unforgettable stay.

“Perfect stay”

Absolutely loved this place, it's so quirky but renovated so well so it's modern whilst maintaining the history. Fabian and his wife were the most amazing hosts. Loved sitting outside watching the stork and the horses. Brilliant shower, the comfiest bed ever and wonderful breakfast on the patio. Cannot wait to go back once we have brushed up on our French. Highly recommended.

The entire stay was beyond expectations. The owners were awesome & extremely accommodating. The town & bunker were both picturesque. It is the perfect place to stay if visiting Forts of the Maginot line.

A much special buildibg, but truly nice inside. Superb breakfast and at arrival we got a bottle Cremant.

Unique experience in a beautiful, peaceful location. Bed was super comfy and the shower was splendid. Fabian the host was very welcoming and totally made us feel at home.
