“Easy, clean, great service, great location, great host”

Cleanliness, location, easy check-in and wonderful breakfast. We stayed there on our way to Oslo. But a great stop for nearby national parks and also during winters offers lots of activities. Very cool property. Even though there is a shared bathroom it was clean all the time and it was available.

We stayed at Furulund Pensjonat for a night during our road trip, and it was an excellent experience. Dennis, the owner, is a fantastic host—very friendly and welcoming, and an amazing cook. We highly recommend having dinner there! The place is humble, with shared toilet and shower facilities, but the rustic, old Norwegian charm of the house makes it very special. Highly recommend for a cozy and memorable stay!

“Beautiful house in a beautiful location”

A wonderful house with a hospitable owner! Excellent for children, there is a trampoline nearby in the forest, near a lake and a forest, we stayed for 1 night on the way to the fjords and did not regret it. I like the location and the view from the shared balconies. And utensils and pictures inside the house.

“A good rural place to stop”

The rural location was good and in a beautiful area and it met our needs driving from Alesund to Oslo. The value was very good. The bathrooms were shared but had a good setup with male and female toilets separate. The guy who ran it was very helpful and cooked us a nice evening meal as an extra.

Magic Norway. We have stayed in only lovely and exciting places on this trip from glamping on a beach, a refuge in the mountains via a vintage hotel, a cosy b&b to this… Our favourite without a close second. A post war “pensjonat” where your initial thought is that time just forgot about it until you realise love found it. I’m old enough to remember these places being the norm and as such not being impressed but to see my childhood through the lens of maturity I instantly fell in love with both Furulund and my childhood. This is the most peaceful place I’ve ever stayed with the best and unobtrusive service, while the food is simple and exquisite as the place itself. Play a game you forgot existed in the “stue” with the fire in the background while enjoying a cold or hot drink while your dinner is lovingly prepared in the kitchen from local ingredients. Eat it in the charming “spisestue” and be surprised by the flavours of a meal you thought was going to be plain and simple. I don’t want to recommend this place simply because I want to keep it to myself.

There were nice balconies on every level where visitors could sit outside if the weather was nice. There is a grocery store right across the street. The breakfast was very good and had several options
