“100/10”
I honestly don't know where to begin when describing how incredible this place was. We stayed in a room with a city view, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to that scenery and feeling the beautiful summer breeze flowing through the room was simply unforgettable. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, were David and Urszula. We have stayed in many luxury properties around the world, but we have never experienced this level of genuine hospitality and care. They went above and beyond in every possible way. The shared kitchen concept was another highlight. Instead of a traditional buffet, you can help yourself to breakfast. We actually preferred this much more—it felt relaxed, personal, and allowed us to enjoy breakfast in our room while taking in the stunning view. One of the sweetest moments happened when my 6 year old son lost a wiggly tooth during our stay. Urszula surprised him with a special tooth fairy envelope and a gift. It was such a thoughtful gesture that completely made his day. It's those small acts of kindness that make a place truly memorable. From the moment I made the reservation until the day we checked out, Urszula was always in touch, making sure everything was perfect. She even arranged a very late check-in for us without any hassle at all. The place is also very close to the attraction points, we just walked everywhere! This wasn't just a luxury stay—it was an experience filled with warmth, kindness, and genuine care. We left with wonderful memories and can't wait to return. No need to look for another place when you come to Rome!

“Real Italian atmosphere with a unique host”
Urszula is a special host, very kind and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and flexible. The location is unique, most of the ancient sights are within a few hundred meters. We celebrated my wife’s birthday and received much more attention than we expected.

“Big room with perfect location and very helpful and positive hosts”
Perfect location. In the centre of Roma. Big room with city view. The host, Ursula, is just a wonderful, positive, helpful and smiley person. Her son was also very kind and helpful. I highley recommend this place if you would like a big room with a great view in the centre of Rome. The breakfast was «self-serve», with all the normal things you need for breakfast. You just helped yourselfe and got the things you wanted from the fridge. Very clean. I would definetly stay here if I visit Roma again.

“Amazing place to stay in when visiting Rome's city center.”
From the start, Ursula, the manager was extremely polite, helpful, communicative and made sure that she could accommodate us as soon as we arrived, even with an early check-in. We had a coffee waiting on arrival, a tour of the facility and a quick informative presentation accompanied with a portable mini map that we could use to walk around full with small details added by Ursula, it was an extremely nice touch, thank you from the heart for making our stay great! Location: The residence is extremely central, anything you want to visit is at a walking distance, 80-90% of what you can visit in Rome is less than 30 minute walk in any direction, the furthest 2 things are the vatican and the pantheon, both can be visited using public transport, 2 bus stations are less than 50-100m away from the entrance. A taxi from the residence to the vatican is 10€ max. Facility: This is a Residence, where the kitchen is a shared space with the other rooms. The rooms are 2 types, city view facing the Largo di Torre Argentina and other rooms facing back side vents and areas. We booked a room with a city view, and stayed in the Giunone room. Room: The room was spacious compared to what you would find in Rome, very clean, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with clean towels and bed change every 2 days, we were in December at 10-12° degrees Celsius, the whole residence was warm, comfortable with an AC in each room. Hot water wasn't an issue at all, good pressure, warm at any time. We also were provided slippers ear plugs and bath products for free. Breakfast: It's a self service breakfast, you go to the kitchen, grab what you need from there, put it on a tray, make a coffee and eat in your room, at any time you want, everything is available 24/7. Food was but not limited to: fruits, eggs, hams and other prosciutto meats, baked patisseries, fruit juices, cheeses.

“Exceptional stay – truly unforgettable”
My mum and I stayed at Residenza Gens Julia from 18 to 21 October 2025, and it was nothing short of marvellous. The location is absolutely perfect – right in the heart of Rome, making it incredibly easy to explore all the major attractions on foot. Breakfast each morning was lovely, with fresh options that set us up for the day. But what truly made our stay so special was Ursula and her sons. Their warmth, hospitality, and genuine care made us feel completely at home. They went above and beyond to ensure that every moment of our trip was wonderful. We will definitely choose Residenza Gens Julia again the next time we come to Rome. I genuinely wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else. Highly, highly recommended! Demie & Loris

“Great location, but even better hospitality!”
A great location. Most sights are in walking distance. But there was also several bus stops nearby. But the best thing was the hospitality. Urszula, the owner/ hostess and her two sons, were very professional and knowledgeable, but also very kind! I thought for the location, size of room and breakfast that was included, it was very good value for money.

“Wonderful stay at Gens Julia!”
Everything about this accommodation is perfect! Ursula is so welcoming - she does everything to make check in easy for you! We had a beautiful room overlooking the ruins - the room was quite spacious and very quiet at night. The residence has a well stocked breakfast/snack room with tons of choices that help to start your day. The location is perfect - you can walk to any of the sites quite easily and there are tons of restaurants and shopping very close. You are treated like family here - which is why this was our second stay at Gens Julia. Love everything about this place!

“A fantastic choice right in the heart of Rome”
A lovely large room with a view that is almost impossible to beat. The owners are absolutely fantastic and could not do enough for us. The breakfast is self service and very generous with a lot of choices and available all day as is the honesty bar.

This is hands down the best hotel I stayed at in Rome—it totally made my trip there awesome. Julia’s the nicest, most thoughtful host I’ve ever had. The room’s clean and super cozy, and the location’s unbeatable—you can walk to all the nearby spots easily. Breakfast is great too: you can make your own bread, boil eggs, brew coffee, and help yourself to milk or juice. Plus, there are yummy pizza and pasta places right downstairs. Honestly, it was perfect all around, and I totally recommend staying here!

“Great location, spacious clean and comfortable.”
Fantastic place to stay while visiting Rome. Wish we could give 11/10. Urszula and her son David are very good hosts. We were much later checking in due to delays at Rome airport and taxi queues. We kept Urszula informed via WhatsApp and her son David was there to meet us and show us around. They also have an honour system with cold beers and Prosecco in the fridge. Very much appreciated after our delays. Our room was very clean, comfortable and much more spacious than we expected. We had a nice view over The Sacred Area of Largo di Torre Argentina. Breakfast is included where you help yourself and go back with your trays of food to the privacy of nice comfortable table and chairs in your room. I wished we had stayed an extra night and got up early for our flight rather than wasting money on poor service and an expensive small standard hotel room at the Hilton. We had family staying 25 minutes away who had a tiny room and would have much preferred to be in our area as it is closer to many of the attractions. Lots of nice cafes and ristorantes in the area. Highly recommended, great value for this area.
