Hotel Piccolo Borgo is 500 metres from Capannelle Train Station. Located next to the Appian Way Regional Park on the outskirts of Rome, it was once a farmhouse. Parking is free. Nice comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Free shuttle to the Metro station, shuttle available at reasonable cost of 7 euros per person from Ciampino airport . Helpful friendly staff. Good location as a base for travel into Rome or surrounding districts.

We booked 4 nights here as an "out of town" option with a pool and handy Metro link for visiting Rome during our 14 night tour of Italy. 1st impressions of Piccolo Borgo are good. Nice cobbled drive with central raised flora garden and guest apartments to either side. The reception is welcoming and the lady checking us in was superb! She explained all the facilities of the Hotel, breakfast, pool area and the timings for the shuttle bus to & from "Cinecitta" (the nearest Metro station into Rome). The shuttle worked well for us - but please note the timings..... Our room/apartment was a large space with a nice size shower room with a very good shower. The lobby area of our room had ample storage cupboards which included additional blankets & pillows, fridge with complimentary water and deposit box. The bedroom area benefits from a pair of sliding patio doors leading to a paved, fairly secluded patio/garden area. The bed was also very comfortable with crisp white sheets. Breakfast, although limited and repetitive, is nicely presented and perfectly adequate in my opinion for something to start the day. The pool is spotlessly clean achieved with the robotic hoover constantly roaming the bottom and sides of the pool - great to watch!!

The staff was very friendly. Good if you just want a place to sleep and roam Rome and the swimming pool was very chill. A chill vibe had fun to hang out with friends.
