Set in a beautiful 19th-century building, Exe International Palace is a hotel with free WiFi set across the road from Rome's Opera Theatre. The location was good for hop on hop off bus. The room was of a good size and clean and comfortable. There was a hospitality tray. Good storage and welcome robes and slippers. Service recovery, after finding out the bar was closed.

The staff at this hotel are a credit to the business and deserve recognition. Because it was our 50th wedding anniversary on the day of our arrival we upgraded to an executive suite on the top floor and a bottle of wine was waiting for us. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of food - we didn't have any other meals there so can't comment on those. Location is perfect with easy walking distance to a number of the top sites and plenty of restaurants. The supermarket directly opposite is also handy!
