The curtains did not open. The wall under the curtains was filthy. The room was dark. The box spring on one of the beds looks like a dog had torn it apart. The he shower had no pressure. There wasn’t a bedspread or duvet just a blanket and sheet. The glasses were cheap plastic. I had to request an iron twice. I paid $170.+ to stay in a dump My family has stayed in the past when I was in hospital. I couldn’t be more disappointed.

The location is excellent as it is connected to the Mayo Clinic so no transportation is necessary if the purpose of your visit is related to the clinic. The elevators are efficient and there are lots of them, so getting to and from your room is easy and fast.

Breakfast mediocre. Staff very nice and helpful. Scrambled egg was more like a mini omelette and potatoes had been kept warm for a long time. Tasteless basic bread for toast and packet jelly. $13forbreakfast is too much for 3 items, toast + cost of drinks for low grade food! So with tip $40 paid just for that! Disappointed. Reception staff we met all nice except one non smiley person. Hotel is perfect location for Mayo clinic + some walkabout shops and restaurants. It really should lose Grand from the name. Can put up with basic room but not the ‘no frills’ approach! So not very welcoming in that respect. When you enter hotel, there is a lingering musty smell. Paid $128 for the pleasure of a cheap motel. The location is what gives ita 3 stars, + lift + hardworking staff!
