Overview
Set in a beautiful village, this listed residence with granite facades dating from the mid-16th-century welcomes you in an historic setting. Each of the 5 guest rooms at the La Tour du Lion evokes a specific period through refined decoration. Hence a four-poster queen bed with royal ermine patterns in the Anne de Bretagne room, or woodwork, gildings and eagles in the Emperor's room. Just outside the property, a stunning garden faithfully maintains the tradition of this flowering city.

Lovely hotel that's nicely decorated in an old building right in the heart of a stunning village. Owner is a lovely welcoming man and the staff are all very attentive and happy. The meal we had was absolutely fantastic and great value,. Breakfast included and a nice continental selection with a lovely strong coffee. For the price, this is the best place we've stayed. Expect a bit rustic but our room had a roll top bath!

“Definitely worth the stay, but probably to avoid in July and August due to the crowds”
Amazing old property, full of antiques Slightly odd in a stylish way, The paintings on the ceiling of room 2 are amazing Good food well presented and popular The famous flower tubs all over towns not yet planted in mid May and so the crowds haven’t arrived yet

“A great visit to Rochefort at the heart of which is this charming, original hotel.”
A totally original establishment in the heart of a really lovely village. Really warm and welcoming. Amazing , quirky building. We were 3 couples in 3 different bedrooms, all original, spacious and decorated with taste and adherence to the theme of the suite. The crepes we had there for lunch were super. The staff were all incredibly efficient, smiling and helpful , despite being very busy at the peak of the ‘illumination’ season.

We had a beautiful Medieval room. At first glance, I was a little apprehensive, but it had an excellent shower and power sockets in good places. There was no television, which suited us.

“Stay in a historic hotel and village.”
The hotel was in a historic building and had intesting architectural features. The room was large and was decorated in a Napoleon theme. It was very charming room and comfortable. They served a good continental breakfast. It was located in the centre of a very wonderful town.

“Just fabulous ! A delight round every corner and on every menu”
It’s a gorgeous old and rather quirky property which also houses the oldest continuous trading crêperie in Brittany. The staff are lovely and attentive and breakfast is simple, fresh and delicious . We had dinner in the restaurant and it too was fabulous! The village has charming shops and flowers EVERYWHERE! Can’t recommend more highly !

“Quaint French town and venue!”
Quaint hotel in the middle of Rochefort en Terre. Really enjoyed the stay! Suited the area and town in its presentation i.e. like a village out of Disney's 'beauty and the beast'! Enjoyed a meal in their restaurant. Also good breakfasts. Lovely outside terrace (up some steps from back lower terrace) if weather good. Handy to travel to Vannes or see the Carnac Stones.

“Comfortable stay in characterful room”
We enjoyed out stay at this hotel. The old building had bags of characterful charm, and we enjoyed our room - the Napoleon Suite, which was whimsical, very spacious and comfortable. The only down side to this room was the lack of a shower, although the large bath was suitable. Aside from the characterful interior of this property, one of the best things about the hotel is its location: right in the centre of beautiful Rochefort-en-Terre, with a view over the Place du Puits from the turret bathroom. This location afforded very close proximity to the restaurant where we had dinner - La Maison Cachée, which was superb. Breakfast at La Tour du Lion was good; overall, limited in options, but the croissants were excellent.

“Absolutely stunning room fit for a royal couple!”
Oh my goodness, what a room. We felt like medieval royalty. As well as the room, which speaks for itself, we had our own entrance to the garden of the property and to the room without having to go through the hotel or restaurant. The location is also perfect: right on the main road through the village; everything was on our doorstep.

“It was only one night but it was a lovely one.”
The hotel was in really nice condition - old but charming, clean and really well presented. We didn't eat at the restaurant but drinks in the courtyard were delightful and breakfast was very nice. Staff were super friendly, although the fact my companion spoke fluent French was a bonus as there could have been difficulties communicating otherwise.
