Overview
Alpenhotel La Montanara offers panoramic views. Set in Sottoguda village, just 3 km outside Rocca Pietore, it is ideal for hiking in summer and skiing in winter with a ski bus every 30 minutes. This family-run hotel is 400 metres from Serrai di Sottoguda Nature Reserve. The nearest ski lifts are Marmolada and Araba Marmolada and you can get back to the hotel on your skis. Offering mountain views, the rooms feature either carpeted or parquet floors, satellite TV and an en suite bathroom. The breakfast buffet includes eggs, bacon, cakes and fruit. Drinks and snacks are available from the bar, and the restaurant serves local dishes. La Montanara Hotel has a small garden with children's playhouse and a sun terrace. The wellness area is open in the afternoons and includes a Finnish sauna, a Tirolean soft sauna and Turkish bath.

“Perfect stay”
The staff was really friendly, it is visible that they work really hard there to meet people's expectations. Even though this is a simple hotel we had an amazing experience, because we felt welcomed. The room was spacious and well cleaned. The location is great and we had an amazing view from our balcony. The breakfast was nice, with fresh produce made by them. The restaurant food was great. There are enough parking spaces and the location is great for hikers with a car. They have an ice cream shop that is a must, with amazing options and desserts.

Amazing place and location. Very cosy atmosphere. Great and most welcoming staff. Breakfast 10/10. Beds and room furniture require bit of an update to meet comfort standards. Especially beds. Otherwise rooms are clean and complete!

The only one thing was the kind lady with black hair at the reception when she tried to explain to the owner, why we were charge for a double room, even though we had a confirmation before hand in an email that we can change our double room booking for single room so my friend was charged like for the double room, which was almost the double price ! Absolute disgrace!!!

Friendly staf main building is nice however the room we got was in the dependance 100 mtr away on top of the local pizzeria. Rooms there are 15 sqm and very basic / extremely cheap furniture bed etc ikea has much better stuff.

The best spot in case you are planning for hiking. It is very close to the major hiking trails. The staff was amiable and polite. Rooms are spotless and attended every day.

Super friendly staff, comfortable hotel room, great breakfast and dinner, good location next to a little stream, AND delicious ice cream… what’s not to love?! We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of our holiday and it was truly the perfect end to our time in the Dolomites ❤️
