We loved the old town location and the restoration of a period building.

We were only in Roanoke for a brief stopover but had a lovely stay at the Black Lantern Inn. Our room was clean and comfortable and Cindy and Doug the new owners were wonderful hosts. Breakfast on the balcony was delicious and Cindy was very accommodating in ensuring mine was gluten free. Highly recommended!

Wonderful stay, best night’s sleep in super comfortable accommodation. Well organised facilities with thoughtful touches which added to the experience. Exceptional breakfast using locally sourced produce prepared to a high standard. Warm welcome from the hosts who took time to guide us on local restaurants, etc.

Chris and Jayne were excellent! We ran a little late due to traffic and kept them up to date. They were very welcoming when we arrived. The room we stayed in was wonderful. Breakfast was amazing! Each morning it was set up for us and a note card telling what our breakfast included. Everything was homemade (delicious). When we left, Chris gave us an alternate route for our next destination that was for more scenic and less traffic. We would definitely recommend and stay here again!!

I would highly recommend Black Lantern. The room was clean and comfortable, the hosts were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was fantastic. Can’t say enough good about Black Lantern.

“Perfect stay, good night sleep”

Spacious room on the top floor with a comfortable king size bed, very clean. An additional room (private for our unit) one level below with a Kurig coffee machine, where we had individually served breakfast. Access to a shared kitchen (only for the guests of 3 rooms). High end linens and towels. Very friendly owners. Highly recommended

Probably the best B&B I have stayed in. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and the breakfast with personalised menu was delicious. Ideal for downtown Roanoke, just a short drive. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anyone.

The location was perfect - close to the highway and so easy to get to whilst being close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property has amazing atmosphere with plenty of space in the very well appointed bedrooms. There is a kitchen area with fridge and drink making facilities for your convenience. The host are pure joy - so friendly and accommodating and happy to go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. The breakfast was a thing to behold.
